Sania Mirza may have lost in third round of Australian open, but she gave ample evidence of her quality in the second set stretching No. 7 seed Serena Williams to a 6-4 result. She came close to beaking Serena's serve couple of times in second set, and did win atleast two of her service games without conceding a point. She also stretched Serena's serve to couple of dues games before going down.

It is a great achievement for Sania and she has done the country proud. I am sure many more sports person will get inspired by her performance. May God give her more success in future events.

No doubt she did great!
We should also congratulate Mahesh Bhupati's father for realising her talent early on and grooming and supporting her. There has been numerous incidences where players in teens have shown great promise but later abandoned the sport in disgust when no support from govt or indian corpoate came through.
I hope Indian corp comes to aid of initiatives from likes of C G K Bhupathi.

Congratulations to Sania Mirza for reaching the third round of a Grand Slam tournament.

She could reach top 50 in one year provided she protects herself from the 'glamour itch' and gets physically fitter and strong.

Dear Dana Ram Ji,

She is not. But should that be the criteria for being good?
She is a muslim girl, born in Mumbai and now lives in Hyderabad. Can she still be impressive in her work?

"A person should not be judged by the nature of his/her job, but the manner in which he/she does that"

Similarly a person should not be judged by who he/she is? but what he/she has done?

Undoubtedly Sania is impressive. It's not easy to play under that kind of pressure. Those who watched the match would know that Serena dominated Sania by her powerful and flawless serves. In all other aspects of the game Sania gave her a run for her money.

The fact that Sania went down but with a fight will give her a lot of conifdence. Let's hope that this is the begining of a new era of Tennis in India.

Jat Motto should be. Whoever, wherever, whenever makes his country proud is a JAT.
The best thing about sania is that she is a muslim girl shinning in India. Where are those JackAss Packees Maulana's, Jinnahs, Ayub Khans, Yahya Khans who claim that muslims are exploited, have no opporutnity in a Hindu nation like India
President Of India= Muslim
Prime Minister=Sikh
COAS=Sikh
India's Blue Blooded Girl=Sania
I see her as identity as an Indian nothing more nothing less.

Irrespetive of who ruled India, Indians have always been secular minded people. India was always an open country till British came to India and regulated the others to protect their business. Effects of those controls are are slowly fading now and I can see a new India emrging which will be much more powerful. Taslima Nasreen approaching India for the citizenship and that too after living in Sweden for 10 years, tells it all.. Let Indian Muslims know if they are better off in India or else where..

I thought Ms. Mirza was defeated in third round inspite of fact that her parents were in Mecca praying for her success( they are supposed to be educated and progressive muslims :) ). We have been country of losers now our role models are losers too. Hail mother India!

The Importance Of Sania Mirza

If there is an Indian equivalent of the Tiger Woods phenomenon, where a young person makes an unexpected and dramatic impact on a sport and its popular perception, it is undoubtedly Sania Mirza.................

I think we are talking of her winning the WTA title in Hyderabad and not her loosing in third round in Australian open..Why spit venom all the time and look at glass half empty? What is wrong in praying Mecca for their daughter's sake ? Many of us would have done the same for our son or daughter I suppose... Don't complicate simple things my friend...Clap for the country..
