Rohit had given the idea of starting a new thread where the young people can register and take an oath that they will not accept dowary,
Here is the thread. Who ever wishes to register can do it here. This is in response to the views expressed on the thread " A matter of Concern".
Kindly go ahead to help the community.

Col. Tevathia,
Thanks for starting a nice thread. When I got married way back in 1984 my only consideration was the girl. My father was no more and I had to take my own decision (incidently she is also Tevathia from Banboi, Gulaothi) I insisted to get only Re.1 and got it !!! What my wife brought along was only a trunk load of books and magazines, which she has preserved to date. I tease her to get rid of her dahej. We have two brilliant handsome sons aged 18 and 16. If allowed by circumstances to arrange a marriage for them, I commit myself not to take any dahej and the girl will be the only consideration.

Dear TAvathiaji
Very good concrete practical idea.My both the daughters were married without Dahej. My son has also cosented for the marriage without Dahej.
I think we should encourage this process with full vigour. This is the need of the hour. More when others react to the idea.

Dear Tavathia Sir,
Mr Budh had posted a similar thread earlier and the response was pathetic, probably reflective of our senitivity or otherwise to such issues. I am not surprised by very poor response here too. On top of that Dahiya Saheb reminded members to be 'Truthful'!!!
Or may be I am completely wrong. There may be 'Karamyogis' out there who don't want to say anything publicly and would JUST DO IT. Hope it is like that.
My views on the issue are well known and I have given an undertaking not to even think of dowry when my son gets married.
Regards,
JS Malik

Dear Amardeep Ji,
Jo unhone apni marji se diya usko Daheh ki jagah Dan kahna behtar hoga. Tabhi jab riste ki baat karte the to kahte the ki Dan Dahej kya hoga. I guess that is the difference in the two words.
