The following article from the Pakistani newspaper, Dawn, criticising the state of affairs in Pakistan is fully applicable to India and is worth reading for anyone interested in history.

Respected Dr. Sahib,
After all we we have the same mindset. Our history has already been distorted so much by vested interests, Britishers, Communists, Mughals and Hindutwa elements that we fail to understand as to what is correct. I fail to understand as how one can amend history books except by giving distorted versions. Even a prominent monument like Taj is not being spared. God save this country. Till now we know that this pride of India was built by Shahjahan. Tomorrow's children will learn something else and all generations will be left wondering as to what the truth was. I wonder if our historians are so incompetent to bring forward the truth ? Or someone forcing them not to tell the truth ?
