May be this true to some extent when a persons returns to India after first visit. I remember when I went back to India after my studies first time. I was trying to teach the use of forks and knife to everyone in in my house...hahhahaa...And now you know, I am more dessi jat than most of my fellow village Jats...Gaon me jatte hi ek dam thet Jat...Koi bata bhi nahi sakta ki I am not one of them....I think it takes some time and understanding before one can blend with different situations and surroundings... Why to talk of foreign returns, I have seen those coming home from army duties talking mere ko tere ko....

It's not true with everyone returning from US. It depends upon the mentality of individual........... I have seen people living in Delhi, Mumbai showing off, speaking in accented or english mixed hindi and making fun of village life style.....................I remember an incident from my friend's experience.Somebody from his village was very sick and was admitted in a Nursing home in Delhi for surgery.........................Doctors over there, were explaining his condition to worried relatives ( villagers) in English.Naturally relatives became more worried as they did not understand anything. They have to call my friend . So he can talk to doctor.
People , who do such behaviour, have a deep rooted inferiority complex. They try to propmote themselves by imitating or boasting................ :) Those who have really achieved heights of success, do not have to show off................I have seen many people in US ( Both Jats and Non-Jats), who have made it big in their field and they are very polite and humble.
I myself avoid eating from roadside and drinking water outside.Nothing to show off, just to prevent getting sick from change in water and climate.
