Harjivan, You got the right picture mate!
Lovely people, good food , beautiful weather and laidback lifestyle. Lot of opportunities. Perfect place for young people. Where abouts are your friends? Probably in Sydney or Melbourne. WA is not the hub of immigrants, not many Indians here and Jats are almost missing.

Dear Harjeevan,

Welcome to this site. I am sure you would still be contributing to other site as well.

I was just curious if there are two picnics being organized in UK. How many chapters do we have in UK. In US I guess there are three or four, since it is big geographical area. Let us know as to how the jat community organized in UK.

Once again welcome to the site. I hope you will enjoy the discussions here.

Nice to hear from you Colonel.

I am currently in the process of setting up JAT Mahasabha here in U.K but you must realise that the U.K is made up of 4 countries Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

I live in Scotland,Glasgow and we have a JAT population of about 15-20 thousand consisting of mostly Punjabi Jatts.

If you can provide me with information or even send me in the right direction of how to start a JAT Chapter i would be more than greatful.

HI uncle well i should say it with shame that most of the jats in uk are i think turned into banias coz last time when D.r Rajpal ponia decide to form a jat union in uk most of the jat back off the day was decided and the plans were made and some people also promised to came but than when the real day for meeting come it was just three member who came to london to get together one of them myself and other two were D.R Rajpal ponia from shefield and M.r Mukander jangu from bristol,i think most of them just pretend on the site (uk jat) to be active in community meets and development there are few exceptions but than most are like that and ya let me tell u about some uncles who says they are in love with community D.R Rajpal contacted DUDEE uncle to be the head of organisation but he again back off saying he is not the suitable person i mean RAjpal was just asking to come and be the guide not asking for any monetery help but still the kind of response he given was unexpected i m ur kid pls forgive me if i m being a bit rude but i feel disgraced and alone by the kind of response uncle Dudee and other people given in this flawless and unselfish goal to form a jat union in uk i mean if u cant even come to see fellows than oright everybody is living there on settled life who bothers.

Dear Mr. Dudi,

We all have our perception of various things and each one of us is entitled to our opinion. I would be more than happy if one can explain the difference between Hindu Jat and a Punjabi Jat. To me a Hindu Jat speaks Hindi while a Punjabi Jat speaks Punjabi language. Jats are otherwise a very small community, and if we keep dividing it further, we may only be heading for elimination from the main stream. Any one who distinguishes between the jats, I just feel sorry for them.
Now being a Jat does not make one super human being. It is more important to be a nice person rather than being a Jat or non-jat or Punjabi jat or Madrasi jat (we can have as many varieties of Jats as the languages or regions may be).

As per Hindu mythology, we do respect our guests. Since you claim to be a Hindu Jat, means Hindu first and Jat later on. And if you feel that a Punjabi Jat is different than a Hindu Jat, then by virtue of being a Hindu, you should have first welcomed him.

I am not educated at IIT or for that matter, any big institution. I come from a village back ground having studied in village. I did very well in studies for myself. While in academy, I was scoring very high marks in science subjects, but could not beat one person, and mind you he was not even a Jat leave aside being Hindu Jat or Punjabi Jat. I am sure, elite institutions like IIT do not teach about dividing the communities.

It is my humble request to all members that let us not distiguish with in jats and let us not divided our otherwise small community further. Let us respect the views of members. Let us concentrate on the issues rarther than the origin of the person. I think if we all do, that we would be doing a very good service to our community.

I have no intention to hurt any one's feeling and if I did so, I apologize in advance. Kindly take my views in right perspective.

Dear Amit,
It is nice to hear that you and Dr. Poonia are trying to organize the Jat community in UK. Well you will have a lots of obstacles in doing so, as inertia has to be broken to make movement forward. The fact that three people came it self can be considered successful, as two make company and three make crowd.
Now Dudee ji not accepting your offer, may be because he must be very busy with other things at his hands. He is trying to contribute maximum towards the community in his own ways, and that must be appreciated. I would go for the young leadership for the community as they have the new ideas. I would rather suggest a young leader, with new ideas and vision. The leader has to earn the trust of the members and has to prove beyond doubts that he/she has no personal interests.

We have two organizations here. One is AJA, which is purely a social organization and we organize two annual functions. We are very fortunate to have very good membership. We are all united and respect each other. I am here only last 7 years. I have seen two Presidents before me. I don't know if they were elected. Here elderly people just nominate the President and he/she selects his/her team of office bearers. All members advise the community and we do ask each one of them for their views. I am very lucky to have a young Vice President in Mr. Sanjay Roperia and a young Secy Mr. Sandeep Varma. Both Sanjay and Sandeep work very hard for the community with totally unselfish motive and that is what makes us move forward. If you want your organization to succeed, you have to develop this kind of culture.

Another organization is NAJC, which is a Charitable organization under the leadership of Mr. Ram Swaroop Arya Ji, If you people are starting a Charity organization, it will be good idea to speak to Arya Ji. May be you may like to have another Chapter of NAJC in UK rather than going for a separate organization, but again, that you have to communicate with Arya Ji.

Do let me know if you need any help. I will be more than happy to share my views on the subject. Once again thanks for considering me to advise you. I really appreciate it.

I dont get this part ,why cant jats ,wether hindu muslim or sikh come on this site.if some people have issues with that,we could just make another forum just for punjabi speaking jats. There are many issues where the three communities not have common grounds ,but in case of a common cause we can atleast stay firm and 1.

What the hell is going on here!

I believe Jats and jatts are same people ,they speak different languages but thats alright. If anyone is Jatt(only Jatts, cant be any other community) and have good opinion about Jats and want to join us there shouldnt be any problems.

I have studied in all the 3 khalsa colleges in Delhi (Guru gobind singh college, Khalsa morning and khalsa evening). Sikhs(including jatts) respected me and I always took them as my brothers. I can read and write punjabi (cant speak).I have read many books about Jatts, we are same people.

Guys, we dont need to tell who has beaten up whom. If we are strong enough people never give us a chance to beat them. I enjoyed power and respect but never had to beat (physically, mentally, lawfully, financially, there are lot of ways) lot of people anywhere. Grow up guys!

LOL dont provide your list here.

I AGREE WITH YOU GAGAN
YOURS IS A MATURE REPLY. IF WE STARTED CLASSIFYING JAATS THEN THERE ARE HARYANVI JAT/ PUNJABI JATT/UP KA JAAT AND THE LIST WILL BE ENDLESS. THE PROBLEM I FORSEE IS THAT THE YOUNGER GENERATION IS NOT TAKING PROPER CARE IN ADRESSING THEIR SENIORS WITH NAMES LIKE SON or COLONAL, THIS FACT IS A BIT DISTURBING.
THIS SITE IS A MIRROR OF OUR COMMUNITY AND WE MUST PAY PROPER RESPECT TO OUR SENIORS

On a start-note - Welcome to Harjivan at Jatland.

Dear fellow members,
These kinds of discussions have taken place many times on this site, but nothing conclusive.

Firstly, Dudi bhai has already cleared that he don’t believe in religion and also right that the rules of Jatland doesn’t allow other Jats here.

Secondly, I also agree with Col. Uncle on many points. It is more important to be a nice person/human being, rather than being a Jat or Non-Jat.

I also don’t believe in jaat-paat or oonch-neench.

Dil ko dekho, chehra na dekho
Chehron ne laakhon ko loota
Dil sachha aur chehra jhootha-2

Iss site par bahut se jhoothe ‘Jat’ bane baithe honge, kai fake Id’s bhi jaroor hongi - unse acchhe to ye sach bolne wale bhai lagey - atleast, he has shown his sincerety, by declaring himself a Jatt.

As far as someone is contributing in a right perspective - on this portal or to the community - and not trying to promote anything objectionable, everything’s fine.

I am just against fake/double Id’s.

So friends, leave all this over to the Administrator/Moderators - whether to change the rules or block someone - and let’s move in harmony. Let the Admins/Mods do, whatever they feel is right.

There’s one great quote for this:
If you can’t find a solution to a trouble, let the troublemakers handle it themselves.

(Mahlee bhai, you are not the ‘trouble’ here – but the ‘rules’ are!!)

I am not against or in favor of other Jats - joining in here.
My only message is "Respect each other".

Thanks to one and all,

Shailendra

I don't know who said and where it is mentioned that this site is only for Hindu Jats. If that be so, there would be handful of members on this forum, and we would be missing valuable ideas and views of larger section of society. I guess, the purpose of this site is give an opportunity and stage to the community people to express their views of variety of subjects. One of the purpose could be to discuss the issues which affect our community in particular and nation in general. If that be so, then we should not differentiate among Jats irrespective of the language they speak or the area they live in.

I would recommend the use of this site by all Jats.

Just the fact that a sikh jat comes on this site makes you get all worked up is funny man ..no offense .... :p :p :p

Focusing on hindu jats ...can u define who is a hindu,i ama staunch arya samaji and dont know if if i am exactly your traditional hindu ,what about the ones that follow no religion are they gonna get banned to ....

If it focusses on hindu jats a non hindu jat can come and express his view ...bridges up the gaps dosent do any harm...

Buddy dont loose sleep over it tonight ..

First :Welcome to Harjivan at Jatland.

There is no difference of religion. As per my views, Jat means JAT either of any religion. Origins of all the JATs are same, due the circumstances, changes of religions have come into the picture.

I can put one real life example,

At the time of Mughal emperors, some of the JATs became Muslims after that some of them converted to Hindu and some of them remain the Muslims.
In my village, I had one lady, her in-laws were Muslims and father side was Hindu JAT. She used to wear burka in her susral (At her in-laws home), but at father’s residence, saries.

So please don't go religion wise.

JAT means JAT.

Although I wanted to resist myself for posting on this issue as I am very much against any form of communalism and even discussing this didnt seem appropraite.. but here is what I have to say about our country and countrymen... lets make this happen...

Make our country such a place

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high
Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
By narrow domestic walls
Where words come out from the depth of truth
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit
Where the mind is led forward by thee
Into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake

Sumer, Your point is justified by what you have written here but thats what site has to change. But I think we can give some space to Jatts. I am not talking about any other communities as we differ with them in lot of ways.
