Dear Friends,
I am in the mid of an endeavour with regard to the Schedule"H" and other drugs with Narcotic content which are openly sold my chemists all over the NCR in the absence of proper medical prescriptions and I am in the midst of getting the legal machinery into action for I have seen from close quarters, the bright youth getting wasted, years being lost. Hope some of you would know the repercussions of such addictions. The repercussion for the person and the family are devastating.
I seek your help in whatever way possible for me to shock the courts and the authorities into acting and acting fast with consistency.
Let me know if any one out there is willing to associate and to help me in this.

Sir, Do you mean, narcotic (procreative) drungs are being sold at the chemist shop in NCR?
This can't be so. They are too expansive to begin with.

Dear friends,
To begin with, Anuj you ought to read my entire thread and understand the meaning of each phrase and then only comment.
We have some members who are into starting a Jat society and stuff and some of the suggested names are Jat Chetna etc, well could there be a bigger misnomer when evidence points to the fact that no Chetna really exists or they could have got in touch with me to stand by me and my friends in our endeavour. So, all those interested in formation of such a society ought to look deep within their souls if they still remain spotlessly clean and let everyone know their real intentions.
Besides I had started this thread to elicit help and support in the form of information and testimonials from fellow members who prima facie appeared to be idealistic but somehow the message was not taken well though I am sure each member knows a family or a friend who is affected in one way or the other by the addiction to medical drugs sold over the counter in the absence of medical prescription.
Anyway, what i have decided to do, I shall go ahead with it and it does not bother me that no help is forthcoming and by the way strangest of all a particular member who is a doctor did come forward initially but some finer profit and loss analysis has made the member delete his post offering help. The name of the said member would be revealed at an appropriate time, I promise you that.
I must say that we really live in the times of pygmies where spineless humans exist in abundance. keep it up and maybe when someone who is your own flesh and blood falls prey to this menance would make you realise the real import of what I have decided to do.
Keep it up folks. Ignorance is really bliss.

Dear Anuj,
Do you have a lack of grey matter or perhaps you are unable to read and understand the issue being raised or is it a case of your taking things on this site casually and posting something just for the heck of it.
Read the thread and the post carefully and only if you come to understand should you respond.
No, these drugs are not being sold on chemist shops. Its medicines with narco content which are being sold and if possible then read the news about the Delhi High court granting bail to five manufacturers who were manufacturing such drugs(the word drugs is used genereically) and were selling them through the chemist shops. The effort by the DRI, customs etc was lost on the High court but then who said we could achieve results in a jiffy.
Besides, does anyone really care, just take the example of Jatlanders, accept one no one came forward with any serious offer to help. Does not matter, keep walking, who knows.
Who cares, isnt it.
Take care

Dhiren Singh Ji
What do you mean by "Schedule"H" and other drugs with Narcotic content". I am not from medical background so have no idea what the issue is here.
I know that I used to get medication for fever/headache etc without any prescriptions from local medical store. Are you fighting against those or something more serious going on?

Dear Dhiren,
I was thinking of talking to you regarding this post for long but unfortunately got abstracted everytime. So as Rajdeep also pointed out it would be great if you can elaborate a bit more what exactly 'schedule H' drugs mean so that it would be easy for a layman to understand. Are these the drugs which fall under the category of 'prescription drugs'? And when you say 'the drugs with narcotic contents'.. are you talking about the habit forming or the addictive drugs? And if these are the 'prescription drugs' then are these being sold over the counter .....I'm trying to understand the quintessence of the scenario you are talking about.
I’m quoting you here what you said in your previous posts:
“Besides I had started this thread to elicit help and support in the form of information and testimonials from fellow members who prima facie appeared to be idealistic but somehow the message was not taken well though I am sure each member knows a family or a friend who is affected in one way or the other by the addiction to medical drugs sold over the counter in the absence of medical prescription.”
Now if I say I’m willing to help you then how is that possible and what can I do in this regard because as per my knowledge I personally do not know anyone addicted to these medical drugs. Still count me in if there is anything I can do. I appreciate your gallant efforts and my gratitude to you is boundless for the selfless and noble endeavors.

Dear Poonam/Rajdeep,
First things first, Schedule H is a category of medicines under the Indian Drugs and Cosmetics Act and the medicines and drugs under this category differ from the other prescription drugs in that most tranqualisers, sedatives, barbiturates, antidepressants and certain anti biotics as well fall under this category.
A simpler example would be cough cyrups which contain Codine which is the active part of Opium which results in a high/sedation for the person ingesting Opium. Today in the NCR, cough syrups are the craze for youngsters before they graduate to harder drugs or cocktails of other drugs which are sold by medical stores.
Strictly speaking, the very nature of the active molecules/ingredients/salts in these medicines are addictive with long psycho somatic dependancy and repercussions and thats precisely the reason why legislation has made it mandatory that these medicines be only sold on prescription from a medical practitioner but unfortunately the ground reality is quite opposite.
To give a recent example, in November 2004 in a village in District Gurgaon four young college going boys died due to an overdose of Proxyvon injections which is a sedative/painkiller for use by terminally ill cancer patients and the like. The investigation revealed that the boys had bought these injections on their way back from the college. The illegal sale flourishes, the district drug inspectors continue to collect their monthly bribe from the medical stores across the city, its disgusting to say the least.
Imagine the plight of these four families, had such a thing occurred in the west then the store which sold such medication illegally which led to fatal consequences would have to shell out damages making an example and a deterrant for the other store owners.
I believe that crime or illegal activity flourishes where the cost on being caught is too low, incraese the stakes for the wrongdoer and we can have a risk reward equation which is no longer attractive to even think of. Each wrongdoer is an astute businessman who operates on a lowest cost to reward strategy. The wrongdoer in our scenario is not the youngster or the person who gets addicted to these drugs but the medical store owner.
At the time of starting this thread i had hoped of getting support in the form of people buying these medicines, getting a bill made and then testifying and filing affidavits in the court as part of the legal effort. Could have been worthwhile, can still be so. I hope some friends come forward.
I thank you both for making an earnest effort to understand. Do think of the loss to the society, families in terms of productivity and the incidence of crime by the users. We owe them something, dont we.

PS. I can show real living corpses who have wasted their youth and are well into middle age, all thanks to addiction to aforecited drugs/medicines.

That’s pathetic. Thanks Dhiren for explaining the scenario and I must appreciate the sensitivity you are bestowed with. I’m moved to know the gravity of the situation. I sincerely hope that you get support from more people over here in whatever terms they can.
C’mon people, aren’t you stirred knowing the reality of whats happening around us.. how can someone be so callous, I don’t understand that. Anyways I urge more people to come forward and try to make Dhiren’s efforts worthwhile.
P.S. As before, since I'm not around there I don't think I can help you directly but I would spread a word for sure, among my folks there...if that can be of some help..lets see.

Very impressive clarity this time. That's where you should have started. I wish good people would come forward to help in this matter.
