Trojan Smit fraud: Need Help

Dear friends,

This has happened with me for the first time and I need some serious help. Last evening an error message showed on my PC, the screen had turned blue and still remains the same. The error message said that error caused by Trojan Smitfraud.
I really am at sear vis a vis this problem. My computer has started behaving funnily. On launching internet explorer, it does not take me to the desired wibsite but to some unnamed site with some directory search. On logging on to my email account I am unable to open my mails as clicking on a mail results in me being redircted to the above mentioned stupid directory page. My computer has slowed down and I do not what to do. Some of you are IT experts and I need your help to come out of this problem.

Pls help me to remove this Trojan and related problem. I will be thankful to you all.

Dhiren, looks like your hard disc (I mean ur computer's.. :) ) got infected. Trojan is a virus I guess ..I'm not a compu buff though.

Vaise Dhern, Like Poonam said this is a computer virus (software that infects a computer and does bad stuff with it)....I don't think anyone
of us here is likely able to provide any solutions...You'll have to rely on
some anti-virus software to clean it up.

Search the internet....for example here is one site with some info.

I guess you can go to your local computer store and either buy the software
or get someone to clean it up for you.....

There might also be some freely available utilities that you might find..
Just do a search on the internet...assuming you are able to access
the internet from your computer.....But I would just invest in some
anti-virus/spyware software...

Go to microsoft site
Download their spyware
run it and it should fix your problem

well there are two solutions... the easy one is to go to microsoft site , download the spyware and run it and it should fix the problem.... the other method is to open the register enteries... go to run and type regedit and then go to Hkeylocalmachine/software/microsoft/windows/current version/run...

then u wud see a list of programs that are automatically loaded while starting up

delete the enteries which seem to be the programs that u have not installed urself.. be careful while deleting... as I said u could take the easy way by using spyware by microsoft....

As you have explained, I am sure you won't be able to open Microsoft.com on your computer and you will have to take help of somebody else. I mean you will have to download the program from another computer, copy on a flopy disc and run on your computer . These are small programs and should't be any prob. in copying on a flopy. My suggestion is don,t try regedit. Chances are there that you could delete some imp file.

No wonder , you were seen on jatland for quite some time.

My absence from jatland is explained by the virus I am having to grapple with and I am still in the midst of getting rid of it. Will inform about the result soon.BTW Poonam and Raj were as interesting as ever, their natural self. wow, you folks made my day. Yo aapna Gagan bhi pura majakia hai. Hna Dhirender bhai agar aapki hard disk pe ghana jaruri data na ho te uski dhulai jarur karwa lena. I mean "f-disk". Any resudual present on your hard disk might create problem in future. Pher ek achha sa anti-virus program jarur dalwa lena. kamse kam kuchh mahino ke liye nischint ho jaoge.

Agar kachhua chhap agabati nahi te ek sadharan khusabudar agarbati jarur laga kar baithna computer ke samne.That should help to rejuvenize your spirits.jitne din aap jatland par nahi aye, pata nahi kitne naye vichar aye aur man me kulache mar kae dham tod gae hnoge.
