In the light of this news item, I believe that we are not making optimum use of solar power capacity in our country. With more than 3000 hrs of sun light through out the year and all the know-how, what is holding it back to harness this desperately needed source of energy.What are the hinderances other than the political will power?

with oil prices crossing $70 / barrel, there not many options left except to go for other sources of energy. Solar energy is certaily very good option for most of villages. Unfortunately its still expensive compared to normal electricity. here is another though provoking link which has direct bearing upon farming community;
