Dudee Ji , I think you have taken my points personally which is not fair. I know you have served in defence and I have read your opinion at other forums also. You have misunderstood my point. Don't you think that this media was covering live 24X7 Bombay encounter, but no time to air/ cover the issues of veterans who are sitting at footpath in chilling cold. Is this the way our Audio-visual/ print media, Politicians and socialites should behave indifferently? You know, ZEE News devoted full one hour for ANANYA SAMMAN function attended by politicians/ film actors/ Business tycoons etc and had repeated telecast for three days. I do agree that individual has its own way how one honour Shaheeds. But I don't Media is an INDIVIDUAL. Further, Panga.....etc words from you not expected. I have close association with serving as well as retired defence personnel and I hail from a family whose 4 generation had served in army/ airforce. There is no contentious issue between us except misunderstading and perception of things in different way. Thanks for your support for OROP.

Dear Raj Bahadur thank you clearing the points.
No misunderstanding to me. but certain people come here with fake/mulity ID
and making cheap remarks to our Martyrs-Shaheeds, Our historian-writers,
our national leaders.our saravkhap panchayat and on jat kaum.
asa karkar ky vah kabhi moderator bhi ban jate han..
.Please don,t sing Jhoothi Kavita and stop all this SWANG and DHHAKOSLA.
yah line unko moka deti hae-misunderstanding creat karti hae ki yah poet corner ya yahan poetry likhne wala per hae.
We all know press is very unfair to Army, our Martyrs, Farmers and particularly against Jats.
But think who run this Media. Why they will take pain for Martyrs, Ex-servicemen and their problems.
Who owns the media in India ?

Let us see the ownership of different media agencies.

NDTV: A very popular TV news media is funded by Gospels of Charity in
Spain Supports Communism. Recently it has developed a soft corner towards
Pakistan because Pakistan President has allowed only this channel to be aired in
Pakistan . Indian CEO Prannoy Roy is co-brother of Prakash Karat, General
Secretary of the Communist party of India . His wife and Brinda Karat are
    sisters.

India Today: which used to be the only national weekly which supported BJP
is now bought by NDTV!! Since then the tone has changed drastically
    and turned into Hindu bashing.

CNN-IBN: This is 100 percent funded by Southern Baptist Church with its
branches in all over the world with HQ in US.. The Church annually
allocates $800 million for promotion of its channel. Its Indian head
    is Rajdeep
Sardesai and his wife Sagarika Ghosh.

    Times group list:

Times Of India, Mid-Day, Nav-Bharth Times, Femina, Filmfare,
Vijaya Karnataka, Times now (24- hour news channel) and many more...

Times Group is owned by Bennett & Coleman. 'World Christian Council does 80
percent of the Funding, and an Englishman and an Italian equally share
balance 20 percent. The Italian Robertio Mindo is a close relative of
    Sonia Gandhi.
Star TV: It is run by an Australian, who is supported by St. Peters
    Pontifical Church Melbourne.

Hindustan Times: Owned by Birla Group, but hands have changed since
Shobana Bhartiya took over. Presently it is working in Collaboration
    with Times Group.

The Hindu: English daily, started over 125 years has been recently
taken over by Joshua Society, Berne , Switzerland .. N. Ram's wife is
    a Swiss national.

Indian Express: Divided into two groups. The Indian Express and the New Indian
Express (southern edition) ACTS Christian Ministries have major stake
in the Indian Express and latter is still with the Indian counterpart.

The Statesman: It is controlled by Communist Party of India.

Asian Age and Deccan Chronicle: Is owned by a Saudi Arabian Company
with its chief Editor M.J. Akbar.

Gujarat riots which took place in 2002 where Hindus were burnt alive,

Rajdeep Sardesai and Bharkha Dutt working for NDTV at that time got
around 5 Million Dollars from Saudi Arabia to cover only Muslim
victims, which they did very faithfully.. . Not a single Hindu family
was interviewed or shown on TV whose near and dear ones had been burnt
    alive, it is reported.

Tarun Tejpal of < <http://tehelka. com/>Tehelka.com regularly gets blank
cheques from Arab countries to target BJP and Hindus only, it is said.

The ownership explains the control of media in India by foreigners.
    The result is obvious.

PONDER OVER THIS. NOW YOU KNOW
WHY EVERY ONE IS AGAINST TRUTH, HOW VERY SAD..

    Dharmpal dudee ny war-widow Dadi-nani
Tai- Chachi- Bhua-bahin Beti ko dekha hae
kisi sarkar ky muh sy Veer naris nahi suna hae

Here is a Real life story

Kanta Devi would not let go of her son’s wallet. There have been several people, she confided, who had offered to buy the wallet during the last 10 years. But she has not parted with the bloody and bullet-ridden wallet of her son, one of the martyrs of the Kargil war.

He was among the youngest soldiers to lose his life in Kargil. Udayman Singh, barely 18, perhaps had a premonition of his death as he called up his parents before the ‘final assault’ at Tiger Hill and casually mentioned that he may never get another chance to speak to them.

Posthumously awarded the Seva Medal for bravery, the teenager was the only son of his parents and on Saturday, his mother could not hold her tears back as she watched the officers and soldiers of 18 Grenadiers laying wreaths at the memorial erected to honour the Kargil martyrs. Kanta Devi was not alone though among the widows and mothers who had assembled on the occasion with moist eyes and memories to live with.

She wanted her to continue with his studies and become a doctor or an engineer, she disclosed. But the boy had a fascination for the olive green uniform. One day he simply informed his parents that he had passed the recruitment test and was going away for training.

“He was the only son and only brother of two sisters, both of his sisters have been married, ten years have passed but neither compensation nor other facilities can fill the void,” she said. “Many people approached us to purchase the wallet but it is our last wish that when we die, half of the wallet should be burned with each of our bodies,” said the parents.

There were other poignant moments. The army has named women who lost relatives during the conflict as “Veer Naris” and they are felicitated every year on the anniversary of the Kargil victory. Sitting among them today was also Kamla Devi whose husband Havildar Madan Lal was awarded posthumously the Vir Chakra. “I am alive for the sake of my children,” she said with tears rolling down her cheeks. But despite the loss, she would like her only son to also don the olive green uniform. Her daughter said, “I remember my father telling us to follow the path of righteousness.”

Bodies returned bear evidence of torture - The Times of India News Service
NEW DELHI: A tale of barbarism by the Pakistani army in Kargil unfolded on Wednesday with the handing over of the bodies of six Indian soldiers in a disfigured and mutilated condition, some even without their vital parts.

This is the second such incident since fighting began in Kargil. Earlier this month, Pakistan had returned the body of MiG-21M pilot Sqn Ldr Ajay Ahuja after shooting him in cold blood.

``An initial examination reveals that the bodies were disfigured. This is an outrageous act and violation of all international conventions,'' said Army spokesman Col. Bikram Singh. ``Since the bodies were handed back by the Pakistani army, what happened to our soldiers is entirely Pakistan's responsibility,'' R. S. Jassal, the external affairs ministry spokesman, said.

The bodies of the six soldiers, including that of Lt Saurav Kalia, were handed over by the Pakistani army at post No. 43 near Kargil. The eyes of some of the soldiers had been gouged out, and their ears, nose and genitals chopped off. The six soldiers belonged to the Infantry's 4 Jat battalion and were part of a patrol that had been reported missing within Indian territory in the Kaksar sub-sector since May 14.

The Army spokesman declined to comment whether the soldiers had been tortured to death or whether the bodies had been mutilated afterwards, saying that they would not like to comment till they received details of the post-mortem report. The report has been delayed as the bodies could not be flown to the Base Hospital at Srinagar due to bad weather. ``We are hopeful of getting the report tomorrow,'' he said.

The Army and MEA spokesmen declined to comment on India's response if the post-mortem report indicated torture. They also declined to say whether organisations like the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) would be present during the post-mortem.

A report from Kargil quoted an Army official as saying, ``We have never heard of any such treatment meted out to Army personnel, who wage a battle for their motherland, in the history of armed conflicts between the two countries. Pakistan has done this a few days before its foreign minister Sartaj Aziz will visit New Delhi to discuss the Kargil situation,'' he said. He recalled that in the 1971 war, the Indian Army had captured over 95,000 Pakistani soldiers in the eastern sector who were handed back to Islamabad unharmed.

The Army said fierce fighting continued in the Batalik and Drass sub-sectors and 10 more Pakistani soldiers had been killed and 12 wounded. Three more Indian soldiers were killed and three wounded.

Please forward this message by copying an pasting this article to amenestyis@amenesty.org as it is this gesture on your part which will lead to awakening of the world media.

Tribute to Indian army Martyrs of 1ST and 2ND world war

Tribute to Indian army Martyrs of 1ST and 2ND world wars.
Today tribute was paid 1st time in British parliament
to Indian army martyrs of two world wars

The Indian army was very improtant to the allied cause in both world wars. Unfortunately, they have not recieved the recognition they deserve. Also, those that fought for the British in WWII do not always recieve recognition from their fellow countrymen - because they fought for the British. This is despite their great sacrifices in keeping Japan out of India and freeing Burma etc.

As one veteran was heard to remark "All damn poltics "

India Gate: The Popular Attraction of India
India Gate is known to be the most popular national monument of our country. India Gate is so popular in the whole world as it is the largest war memorial in India. The monument is situated at the heart of New Delhi and it was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. It is the prominent landmark in Delhi and commonerates the 90,000 soldiers of British Indian Army who has lost their lives fighting for the Indian empire in 1st World War and Afgan War.

    The Construction:
The monument India Gate was constructed in the memory of 90,000 soldiers who had laid down their lives during the World War 1. The monument is situated at Rajpath, which is around 42 meter high and is the most popular relaxing area in the summer evenings. India gate is also considered as the famous picnic spot in winters.

The tour to the Delhi takes up to the journey to the India Gate at the east end of the broad Janpath (earlier Kingsway) and it then leads to the Rashtrapati Bhawan. There are additional 13,516 names engraved on the arch and foundations of the British soldiers killed on the North West Frontier in the Afghan War of 1919. Another memorial, Amar Jawan Jyoti is said goodbye to the imperial rulers. Amar Jawan Jyoti is the form of flame that burns day and night under the arch to remind the soldiers of the nation of soldiers who perished in the Indo- Pakistan War of December 1971. The foundation stone of the India Gate is laid by the HRH the Duke of Connaught in 1921 and the monument was dedicated to the nation after 10 years by the Viceroy, Lord Irwin.

"To the dead of the Indian armies who fell honoured in France and Flanders Mesopotamia and Persia East Africa Gallipoli and elsewhere in the near and the far-east and in sacred memory also of those whose names are recorded and who fell in India or the north-west frontier and during the Third Afgan War."

    Address: Patcham, Brighton

The Chattri, a small domed shaped monument on the Downs near Patcham. During the Great War, many Indian soldiers were treated for their injuries in Brighton.

Those Sikh and Hindu soldiers who did not survive were cremated on the Downs above the town.

In 1921 a memorial to these soldiers, built on the spot where the funeral
pyre had been. It was unveiled by HRH the Prince of Wales on 1 February 1921 after which he delivered a speech praising the bravery of Indian soldiers and asking that "future generations should not forget that our Indian comrades gave their lives in ... a conflict of which the issues were to most of them strange and impersonal".

The memorial, now known as the Chattri, can be seen from parts of the town. It stands as a reminder to the part that was played and the sacrifice that was made by soldiers of the Empire in World War I.

On Sunday 26 June 2000 a commemorative service was held at the Chattri at Patcham for Sikh and Hindu soldiers who died in Brighton during the First World War. The ceremony was attended by over 200 people including World War II Indian veterans from London, members of the Indian Commission, the Patcham Branch of the Royal British Legion. And local people, to witness the wreath laying and to hear the last post sounded.

An inscription in Urdu, Hindi and English says :

"To the memory of all Indian soldiers who gave their lives for their King-Emperor in the Great War, this monument, erected on the site of the funeral pyre where Hindus and Sikhs who died in hospital at Brighton passed through the fire, is in grateful admiration and brotherly affection dedicated"

The text below is from a sign near the memorial:
    The Chattri Indian War Memorial
    Brighton's War Hospital and Memorial
During the First World War (1914/18) the Indian Army fought on the Western Front with British troops. The Brighton Royal Pavilion, used as a hospital for wounded Indian soldiers, nursed over 4000 patients back to health. The Moslems who died at the hospital were buried at Woking in Surrey, but the Hindus and Sikhs were cremated at this site of funeral pyres sprinkled with symbolic metals, flowers, fruits, grains and spices. The ashes from the pyres were then scattered in the sea.

The Chattri was erected on the site of the cremations in honour of the Indian soldiers who died at the Royal Pavilion war hosputal. Brighton Borough Council jointly funded its construction with the India office, and now maintains the memorial and the land on which it is situated.

The Chattri, designed by Indian architect EC Henriques, is constructed from white Sicilian marble. Around the base there are inscriptions in English and Hindi. At the foot of the stairway, which is in the form of an Indian riverside landing traditionally associated with memorials to the dead, lie three granite slabs covering the three concrete crematory bases.

Even now, officials of the local High Commission and retired British exsevicemen of Brighton, collect once a year to remember the martyrs who died fighting the cause of Kaiser-i-Hind i.e. the British Emperor. One of them was Major Henry Lincoln, a veteran of the 8th Punjab Regiment, who paid his respects at Chattri, Southdowns, on Remembrance Day in 1996. For him it was a real pilgrimage, to reach the Chattri by a Landrover, over a boggy three-mile track to pay homage to his fellow soldiers, who fought with him on the western front of France.

    (With Thanks Ms. Sunita Trivedi)
India and Israel (Hindus & Jews) are true friends in this World. Both are Long Live and yes also both have survived and surviving under adverse conditions.
