Badgaon

Badgaon (बड़गांव) is a Jat village, mainly of Badiyasar gotra, in Merta tehsil of Nagaur district situated at a distance of 100 km from Nagaur in Rajasthan. It was founded by Jats of Badiyasar gotra about 1600 years back, hence called Badgaon. Area of the village is 16000 bigha. The village is known for sacred ponds and living samadhis in this region. The Kisan Kesari Baldev Ram Mirdha is very popular in the village. The disputes in the village are settled in the village itself through mutual understanding, nobody goes to court.

Out of 1000 families in the village 200 families are of Jats. Biggest gotra is Badiyasar. Other gotras of Jats are Kalwaniya, Lamrod, Latiyal, Chhaba, Gasawa, Khadab, Sevlia and Dhaulya.
