Baraut is situated on the bank of Poorvi Yamuna Nahar on Delhi – Saharanpur State Highway at a distance of 20 KM North from Bagpat City and 55 KM from Meerut City. Baraut is well linked to Binoli in the east, to Chaprauli in the northwest and Kautana in the west by City Roads. At present Baraut is a Municipal Corporation Region and Tehsil Headquarter. Jat Degree College and Jat Inter Colleges are well known through out India. Students from J&K, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal, Punjab, and varous other states come and study in Baraut. Other then these, Jain Degree Colleges, Government Polytecnic Colleges, BEd College and number of 10+2 Schools are the important factors in developing Baraut as Educational Hub of Distt Bagpat. Baraut is also known for Animal Bazaar which is held on every Wednesday. Baraut is also a multi-religious place with many Hindu Temples, Jain Temples and Mosques around. Besides there are 32 Temples, 21 Mosques, 1 Gurudwaraand. 2 church are there around this region. One of the biggest temple in this area known as Digamber Jain Bara Mandir is a very famous and holds big importance here. It is worth seeing and not describing in words. On the day of Mahavir Jayanti (Birth of Bhagwan Mahavir) during month of April a three-day carnival is organised every year. Another carnival is organised during Dusshera following Ramlila (Play depicting life on lord Rama). Among to be seen places Faula Pond, Lakkho Wala Kua and Temple Ravidas Pond are very famous.
