James Tod in his Itinerary from Jaisalmer to Sehwan, on the right bank of the Indus, and Haidarabad, and return by Umarkot to Jaisalmer writes about Chandia-ki-basti (2 coss). — Hamlet inhabited by Muslims of the Chandia tribe, mendicants who subsist on the charity of the traveller.
