Chaudhary Hira Singh Rana was a Congress leader of masses of Rural Delhi. He was Executive Councilor of Delhi from 1972-77 (Chief minister of Delhi, in current terms) and Metropolitan from Narela. He was a leader of rural Delhi masses. He hailed from Mukhmail Pur village in north Delhi
Honour
The Azadpur Fruit and Vegetable Market, Asia's largest Fruit and Vegetable market, is named after him. Dr. Yoga Nand Shastri former Delhi minister and Speaker of Delhi Legislative Assembly, is his son-in-Law.
Great donor
Chaudhary Hira Singh was a great donor for social causes. He rendered great assistance in construction of rooms at Kanya Gurukul, Narela.
