Dharmpal Takhar is one of the young Jat Engineers and scientists. He is from a middle class Jat family of Takhar gotra from Rajasthan and did his graduation and post graduation from IIT as mechanical engineer. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D on scholarship from Rice University.
Dharmpal Takhar is one of the members of team who have invented the single pixle camera, a new digital camera that captures high-resolution images using a single sensor and from just a few random measurements it can reconstruct a high-resolution image .The camera will be unveiled at an Optical Society of America conference in New York this week. Compared with conventional digital cameras, this new technology requires less power, takes up less room and captures light from previously undetected parts of the spectrum.
