डा. सुखबीर सिंह सांगवान (Dr Sukhbir Singh Sangwan) को राष्ट्रपति प्रतिभा पाटिल ने मेडिकल क्षेत्र के सर्वोच्च पुरस्कार डा. बीसी राय नेशनल अवार्ड से सम्मानित किया।

डॉ सुखबीर सांगवान न केवल देश के सबसे सबसे सफल हड्डी रोग विशेषज्ञों में से एक हैं बल्कि एक बहुत भले इंसान भी है. पानीपत जिले के परधाना गाँव में जन्मे डॉ साहेब, युवा अवस्था से ही कम्युनिस्ट विचारधारा से प्रभावित रहे है. गरीब व ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों से आए रोगियों के लिए उनके दिल में ख़ास स्थान रहा है. उनकी लगन और कर्तव्यपरायणता के कितने ही किस्से आपको ग्रामीण अंचल से आये रोगियों से सुनने को मिल जायेंगे. देशवाल जी आज भी याद करते हैं वो रात, जिस समय डॉ. साहेब रात को राउंड पर आए थे. मेरे साले की पत्नी भी उस स्पेशल वार्ड में भरती थी. साथ के बेड पर एक १०-१२ साल की लड़की जो रेवाडी के पास के किसी गाँव से आई थी. झूल्ले से गिर कर उसकी स्पिनल कॉर्ड या अन्य कमर की किस्सी हड्डी को तक़रीबन ना ठीक होने वाली चोट थी. महीनो के प्रयास के बाद भी ठीक न होने के बाद डॉ मोद्दा ने अगले दिन डिस्चार्ज करने का फ़ैसला सुना दिया. डॉ सांगवान को उस लड़की की माँ ने अपनी लड़की के लिए डॉ सांगवान से याचना की और बताया की उस लड़की के पिता सेना में सेवारत थे और पिछले १.५-२ साल से लापत्ता थे, उस हालत में उस बेटी को लेजाना माँ के लिए बहुत कष्टदायक होगा. सारी बात सुन कर डॉ साहेब द्रवित हो उठे और उस माँ को विश्वास दिलाया की उन्हें तुंरत छुटी नही दी जायेगी और आगे का इलाज भी ख़ुद करने का फ़ैसला किया. दोस्तों डॉ साहेब की कृपा से वो बच्ची बिल्कुल ठीक हो गई थी. ऐसे है हमारे डॉ साहेब ! किसी भी सिफारसी मरीज को बारी से पहले कभी नही देखते, ये उनका खास नियम रहा है. और बहुत सारी बातें हैं जो उन्हें एक को महान व्यक्ति होने की परिचायक हैं.

Dr Sukhbir Singh Sangwan : Introduction in English

Dr Sukhbir Singh Sangwan was born on 1 April 1948 in family of Late Shri Kuldip Singh Sangwan in village Pardhana in Panipat district in Haryana. He is presently Vice Chancellor, Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak in Haryana.

He joined Pt. B.D. Sharma PGIMS, Rohtak as Prof & Head Orthopedics on 15.2.92 and served in this capacity till 12.1.06. He was Medical Superintendent from 12.6.01 to 18.6.02, Dean from 19.6.02 to 18.2.05 and Director from 8-1-06 till date in the same Institute.
