Gulaothi or Gulavthi (गुलावठी) is a village in tahsil and district Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh.

Jat Gotras

It has a good population of Jats mainly Tewatia Jats. Saidpur is in opposite direction to Bhatona from Gulaothi about 12 miles.

History

The village of Tewatias, Januthal in Bharatpur (Rajasthan) is more than 2400 years old. John Paul Tewatia founded Janauli village (Palwal, Haryana) more than 2000 years back. About 900 years back some Tewatia Jats crossed Yamuna river and founded present Bhatona village in Gulawthi (Bulandshahr) UP. Along with them went some Dagar and Rawat Jats also from Palwal. Palwal and Batana again are Persian name. Ec-Batana used to be ancient capital of Iran during Pre-Mauryan time. Palwal is named after Pallavassur, the Pallavas of Indian history and Pahlavi's of Iran.

Geography

Gulaothi is located at [show location on an interactive map] 28.6° N 77.78° E[1]. It has an average elevation of 200 metres (656 feet).

Demographics

As of 2001 India census, Gulaothi had a population of 42,872. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Gulaothi has an average literacy rate of 55%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 64%, and female literacy is 45%. In Gulaothi, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.
