Hari (हरी) Hariwar (हरीवार) Hariwal (हरीवाल) is gotra of Jats found in Distt Kurukshetra in Haryana. They are descendants of Raja Hiranya Varma (हिरण्यवर्मा). [1] They have been mentioned in Mahabharata Shalya Parva. Mahabharata Shalya Parva mentions names of combatants armed with diverse weapons and clad in diverse kinds of robes and ornaments, All of them came to the ceremony for investing Kartikeya with the status of generalissimo. Shalya Parva in Sanskrit mentions in shloka 56 Hari along with many Jat clans as under: The Mahabharata, Aswamedha Parva in Sanskrit, Book 14:Section VIII, shloka 15 mentions Hari along woth Moond and Bhaskar Jat clans as under: DistributionHari Jat population is 2,130 in Patiala district.[2] References
