Jagal
Jagal (जगाल) Jaggal (जग्गल)[1][2][3] Jhaggal (झग्गल) gotra Jats live in Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. Jagal (जगल ), Jat clan is found in Amritsar.[4] It is a branch of Johiya.

Origin
- It originated from Maharaja Jalasandha (जलसंध). They were called Jaggal due to being the inhabitants of Jangladesh. [5]
- Jagguji, according to the bard, was one of 12 sons of Raja Shiv Singh Johiya (959 AD) of Kot Malot (Malout) in Muktsar, Punjab. He is said to have given fame to Jaggal Clan of Jats.[6]
History
Rajatarangini[7] tells that ...Mallarjjuna was being carried by his servants on their shoulders, his legs being like those of a goat, [defective], he could not walk on the road. When he had passed the dangerous places and had arrived at the village Sabarnika, revered in Lohara, he was arrested by a Thakkura named Jaggika who had placed sentinels there. (Jaggika→Jaggal)
