Kalwar (कालवाड़) is an ancient village in Jaipur tehsil of Jaipur district in Rajasthan.

History

Kalwar was a jagir of Kalyanot branch of Rajputs under the rulers of Amber of Kachhwaha clan. The descendants of Kalyan Singh son of Raja Prithvi Raj of Amber born of Sisodia Rani daughter of Rana Raymal. Khadag Singh of Kalwar was a favourite Sardar of Amber Raja. He died in an expedition to south India. His monument is located at Kalwar. The battle between Madho Singh, the ruler of Jaipur and Maharaja Jawahar Singh of Bharatpur fought at Maonda-Mandhli on 14 December 1767 is mentioned in Kurmvijay. [1]
