Kharapar

Kharapar (खारापार) is a village in Baytu tehsil of Barmer district in Rajasthan situated at a distance of 75 km from Barmer on approach road 5 km off from Jodhpur-Balotra-Barmer road. The village is full of sand dunes.
Origin
The village is not very old. Jats came first here and established hamlet. They dug up a village in which water was hardy (khara in Hindi) hence the name Kharapar.
Demographics The village population is mainly of Jats about 75 percent. The Jat gotras are Saran, Godara, Jyani, Balihara, Siyag, Delu, Lega and Hudda.
Other castes are Brahman, Suthar, Nai, Darji, Charan, Meghwal.
Notable person from the village
- Chaudhari Mana Ram is the Sarpanch of the village. He has great contribution in the development of the village.
- Laxman Ram Delu is upsarpanch.
