Lochav (लोचव] Lohchab (लोचब) Lohchap (लोहचप) Lohchav (लोहचव) Lochhav (लोछव) Lohach (लोहच) or Arh is gotra of Jatts. They were called Lohchav as Panwars had inhabited this area in Rohtak.[1] They are found in Punjab Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. The King Arh was in fourth generation of Ardas and is mentioned in many stories of Puranas. He was a brave Warrior. According to Todd's Rajasthan the origin of the Arh dynasty cannot be traced out, but a few gotras of this dynasty are found among the Jatts.

Distribution

Very few Jatts belonging to this gotra are found to day. They have two villages in Haryana -Bupaniya or Bupannia (बुपणियां) village is situated in Jhajjar district and Shahpur, three villages in Delhi - Auchandi , Delhi - Near Narala - Village Katlupur & one in South Delhi-Village Bamnoli, one village In Uttar Pradesh - Some where in Bagpat District. Few families of katlupur are now permanently settled in Gohana- Sonipat district.

And one village in Punjab District sangrur village Issapur near about 70% people of this village belong to Lohchav gotra ,they write Lohchav with [v] not with [B]

Lohchap population is 480 in Patiala district. [2]
