Mastura (मस्तूरा) is a village and site of Jat Fort of Saimare Jats in Bhitarwar tahil of Gwalior District in Madhya Pradesh. PIN:475220

History
The Orakzai tribes take their name, which literally means the lost son (Wrak Zoi), from a romantic legend about their ancestor, Sikandar Shah who was a prince from Iran. He was exiled or lost, and after many adventures he married and settled in Tirah.[1]One branch, the Ali Khel, has been traced to Swat, whence they were expelled by the other inhabitants and it is not improbable that the whole tribe consists of refugee clans of the surrounding races. They cultivate a good deal of the Khanki and Kurmana valleys in the winter, but in the hot months retire to the heights of Tirah, of which they occupy the southern half called the Mastura Valley.
Mastura fort, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh
This fort was built 430 years ago by Kshatriya Jat ruler Rao Bhuran Singhji Semare Gotra, a deep moat was dug around it to protect this fort. And crocodiles were also released in terms of security. There are three tunnels in this fort, out of which a tunnel has come out of it also in the fort of Narwar stronghold, this fort is in a dilapidated condition today. At present Rao Bhurna Singhji direct descendants is Thakur Purn Singh (Kiledar), Thakur Radhuraj Singh (kiledar), Thakur Dhamedra Singh Rana, Thakur Virendra Singh Rana etc. (Picture credit:- Rana Akash Singhji, Page admin:- Ch.Sahil Singh Baliyan)[2]
इस किले का निर्माण 430 साल पहले सेमारे गौत्र के क्षत्रिय जाट शासक राव भूर्ण सिंहजी ने बनवाया था. इस किले की सुरक्षा हेतू इसके चारों और गहरी खाई खुदवाई गई थी व सुरक्षा के लिहाज से मगरमछों को भी छोडा गया था. इस किले में तीन सुरंगे हैं, जिसमें से एक सुरंग तो यह से नरवर गढ़ के किले में भी निकली है. यह किला आज जर्जर हालात में है, राव भूर्ण सिहं जी के वंशज ठाकुर पूर्ण सिंह (किलेदार), ठाकुर रधुराज सिंह (किलेदार), ठाकुर धमेद्र सिहं राणा, ठाकुर विरेंद्र सिहं राणा, ठा. डा.गजराज सिंह पटेल इत्यादि है.
Mastura Fort
It is located about 10km from Bhitarwar on Bhitarwar-Narwar road. The fort is located on the north side of the small village of Mastura. The beauty of the fort is, it has got double moat, around the fort. Surprisingly at least 70% of both the moats still survive. Surprisingly the buildings inside are 60% intact which shows that till few years back this was used for living, another facet of this fort is ,the pillars of building are all made up of local rocks and have beautiful carvings on it.

- ठाकुर नेकीराम और ठाकुर जवाहरसिंह – [पृ.580]: यह सौभाग्य ग्वालियर राज्य की मस्तूरा गांव को हासिल है कि उसकी एक जुगल जोड़ी कौम की तरक्की व काम में पूरी दिलचस्पी रखती है। इस जोड़ी के उत्साही सरदारों के नाम ठाकुर नेकीराम और ठाकुर जवाहरसिंह जी हैं। ग्वालियर राज्य जाट सभा के सन् 1946 के सालाना जलसे को सफल बनाने में आप ने पूरा सहयोग दिया। आप अपने गांव के माने हुए जाट सरदार हैं।[3]
