Narendra Ola
Major Narendra Ola (मेजर नरेन्द्र ओला) has been awarded with Sena Padak (Gallantry Award) on 26 January 2012 for his excellent services provided in the terror effected North-East areas. He is in 15th Battalion of The Dogra Regiment Army.[1]
Contents
Early life
He comes from village Purana Bas in Neem Ka Thana tahsil of Sikar district in Rajasthan. He was born in the family of a teacher Hanuman Prasad Ola. He completed his 8th class studies from School in his village. He got graduation Degree from M.D.S. University Kota. [2]
Joined Army
Joined Army in 2001 as Commissioned Officer in 15th Dogra Regiment. During his College Education he was in N.C.C. and was awarded with second best candidate in Air Force Wing of NCC. He was motivated to join Army by his elder brother Rohit Ola of Indian Air Force. [3]
Gallantry Award
Major Narendra Ola has been working in North-East areas from last three years. When he got a news about terrorists he planned and attacked the terrorists in such a way that his team killed all terrorists without any loss from his side. For this bravery he was awarded Sena Medal (Gallantry).
Awareness programme on opportunities of employment
BONGAIGAON, Jan 31: “The main cause of insurgency is unemployment. The youths of Assam today does not know properly about the opportunities of employment and they should be taught about it.” Following this message the 15th Dogra Regiment of Red Horns Division of Indian Army had organized an awareness camp along with few programmes today. The programmes includes inauguration of a drinking water facility system and a toilet in Runikhata Bodo Girls’ High School donated by 15th Dogra Regiment of Indian Army. This had been inaugurated by Deboraj Upaddhyay, SP, Chirang.
A meeting had been organized by 15th Dogra Regiment of Indian Army at Runikhata where SP, Chirang, Brahmananda Patiri, DFO, Chirang, Major Narendra Ola, Major Saurabh Sahu and many other noted persons were present. Deboraj Upaddhay, in his speech said that the youth have to grab the opportunities of employment which are available in the surrounding environment. He said that this may be self employment also. He also mentioned that the insurgency problem of Assam can be minimized by proper employment procedure. He said that this programme of Army will benefit all the youths.
An exhibition of weapons of the regiment had been organized. A photo exhibition of Army also was also held. Talking to press, Major Narendra Ola said that 15th Dogra Regiment of Indian Army will arrange this awareness camp throughout the month in Chirang and Kokrajhar district. He also mentioned that surrender of thousands of extremists from nine insurgency groups on January 24 in Guwahati proved that Assam is in the path of peace. He also mentioned that Indian Army had a big hand in making successful this surrender programme. Finally, he said that Army always remains ready to help the common people. Thousands of people along with school students were present in this programme.
