History
The history of this city is studied with the history of Sirohi. This region comes into the Sirohi state and was established by the Rao Devraj in 14th Century which belongs to the "Chauhan Kabila" of Rajputana clan. That Time Pindwara Know As Pindaravataka. After Then Pindwara village was under the Dabi Rajputs till 1630. He was a brave adventurer and heroic Kshatriya. Pindwara village was not inhabited at that time.Then Sirohi Maharao invited Pindwara Dabi Rajput to Sirohi and made him special officer(Ohadedar). After 1650, Pindwara became under Ranawat Rajput, The Pond(Talab), Pindwara Vaav(Badi baav) were Built During The Time Of Rana Amar Singh till 1670. After that other Rajputs also started living in Pindwara Which Have Their Own Different Different Historys. It was said that the Rao Devraj is the descendant of Prithviraj III. Before the 19th century this region was known as battleground of the Jodhpur State and Meena Tribe.
V. S. Agrawala[2] writes that Panini mentions in category of villages ending Vaha (IV.2.122) a name Pindavaha (पिण्डवह)
Pindwara was known as Pindaravataka (पिण्डरवाटक). This name occurs in epigraphs from Ranakpur dated V.S. 1496 (1433 AD). One of the earliest metal Jain icon, discovered from Basantgarh, dated V.S. 744 (687 AD)is preserved here. [3]
