Pradeep Sangwan a left-arm in-swing bowler from a remote village of Nazafgarh, Delhi, gives pace bowling an all-new meaning. All of 15, Sangwan is a boy on a mission. He had actively been in the Delhi under-15 and under-19 team and has already made a mark. Coach A N Sharma, who ‘gifted’ the present Indian cricket team with one of the most dashing opening batsman in Virender Sehwag is getting ready for an encore. Pradeep Sangwan looks like any other tall kid you meet on the road. But give him a cricket ball and a batsman to face him and he would take your breath away with his skills.

In the final of a major tournament held at Kolkata, he went in to bat at No.11 and made 63 runs and shared a partnership of 150. In the same tournament, he took 31 wickets in six games.

Pradeep has been to the M.R.F Pace foundation and coached under Dennis Lile and Srinath. His main weapon, says A.N Sharma, is his deadly reverse swing balls. “He is a bowler who makes the batsmen think before playing each ball,” he adds.

His dream like many youngsters of his age, is to represent the country at the highest level. After the good showing at the u-15 level and u-19, he has very realistic dreams to make it to the Delhi Ranji team within a year or two. He may very well be the elusive all-rounder that India has been looking for.
