History

Purheeran has a historical shrine, Gurdwara Zahira Zahur, dedicated to Guru Hargobind who, according to local tradition, came here from Bodal near Dasuya on his way to Kiratpur. The Gurdwara marks the spot where the Guru encamped on the right bank of a cho or seasonal stream. The newly constructed complex comprises a hall, with a square sanctum in the centre. A largely attended fair is held on the occasion of Basant Panchami, in the month of February.
