Rao (राव) Rav (राव) Sarao (सराव) Sarav (सराव) Sarava (सरावा) is gotra of Jats. All the Rajas with Baba Fulasingh Akali fought wars with Mugals and British. 'Samast Rav' in Hindi became Sarav or Sarava[1]

Rao gotra Jats are found in Sikar ditrict of Rajasthan. Also found in Madhya Pradesh. Rao and Sarao are same gotras. This gotra is based on title. [2]
