Dilip Singh Ahlawat has mention it as one of the ruling Jat clans in Central Asia. ^[1] Shivran have originated from Shivigiri (शिविगिरि).^[2] Shyauran (श्यौरान) are descendants of Raja Srinjaya (सृञ्जय) of Kuruvansh. ^[3]

History

Sheoran are the Sura of Indian Literature, ^[4] and Shor of Present day Central Asia. Mahabharata mentions a Suryasura and obviously not for the sun (Surya) but for the Sura people ^[5] Darada (the Darar clan people) a king of Bahlika was born from Surya. ^[6] The Sura Kings came for Yudhisthira’s sacrifice. ^[7]

Sheoran is a branch of Shivi Jats who ruled in Malwa and Rajasthan. When they moved from Malwa to Rajasthan, one group also moved to Neemrana, where they were found at the time of Emperor Humanyun.^[8]

According to the bard of this dynasty king Gaj of Ghazni had two sons named Mangal Rao and Masur Rao. Mangal Rao was the ruler of Lahore and Masur Rao of Sialkot. Foreign invaders drove both of them out of their kingdoms. Masur Rao fled away to the deserts of Rajasthan. He had two sons named Abhai Rao and Saran Rao. Descendants of Abhai Rao came to be called Bhurhya Bhatti and those of Saran Rao, Saran. Mangal Rao had six sons, named Mojam Rao, Gulrish, Moolraj, Sheoraj, Kewl Rao and Phul Rao. Descendants of Gulrish came to be called Gloraya or Kiliraya, those of Moolraj, Munda and those Sheoraj, Sheoran.

Distribution in Uttar Pradesh

There is one village of Sheoran's in District-Rampur (U.P.). It is situated near Milak (25KM ahead of Rampur on the Delhi-Lucknow highway). Name of the Village-Navadia.

There are two villages of Sheoran's in Muzaffarnagar district.These are situated near Shamli.These villages are Malhendi and Pelkha.These two villages were established by two brothers. Jammal established Malhendi. He had four sons.
