Pandur (पाँडुर) Pandura (पाँडुर) is gotra of Jats. This gotra originated from Maharaja Pandu.[1] Pandura (पाँडुर) was a nagavanshi king. (See - Naga)
The Mahabharata Book 9: Shalya Parva Kisari Mohan Ganguli, tr. 1883-1896] mentions the diverse Gods who came to the ceremony for investing Kartikeya with the status of generalissimo. Pandura was one of them as mentioned in Shalya Parva in Sanskrit shloka 68:
- शवेतवक्त्रः सुवक्त्रश च चारु वक्त्रश च पाण्डुरः
- दण्डबाहुः सुबाहुश च रजः कॊकिलकस तदा ।।68।।
The Ramayana Kishkindha Kand Sarga 40 mentions Pandura as under:
- ततः पाण्डुर मेघाभम् क्षीरौदम् नाम सागरम् ॥४-४०-४३॥
- गत्वा द्रक्ष्यथ दुर्धर्षा मुक्ता हारम् इव ऊर्मिभिः ।
