Sumitra Singh (born 1930) is proud to be the first woman Assembly Speaker in Rajasthan. She was unanimously elected Speaker of the 12th Rajasthan Assembly. She is a senior Jat leader from the Shekhawati belt in Rajasthan; Mrs. Singh was elected to the Assembly for the nine out of twelve term (1957, 1962, 1967, 1972, 1977, 1985, 1990, 1998, 2003) from the Jhunjhunu constituency.

She was born in village of Kisari in Jhunjhunu district in the family of Shri Ladu Ram Choudhary on 3 May, 1930. She has done M.A. in Hindi Literature.

She is married with Shri Nahar Singh, (Kadwasra gotra) of Patusahri village in the district of Jhunjhunu on 2 June, 1952 and is mother of three sons.
