Suryavansh is one of the types of kshatriyas. These Kshatriya communities claim descent from Surya. One of sons of Brahma was Mārīcha, whose grandson was vivasvān, from whom started Suryavansha. [1] According to Thakur Deshraj the kshatriyas who followed Solar calender for the calcultion of time were called Suryavanshi.[2][3]
