Unla (ऊंला) Ula (ऊला) gotra Jats live in Rajasthan and Punjab. Ohlan (ओहलान) or Aulana (औलान) are variant gotras found in Haryana and Madhya Pradesh. Ula clan is found in Afghanistan. [1]

Origin

They are stated to be the descendants of Rigvedic King Ula (ऊल).[2]

History

Bhim Singh Dahiya [3] has given details of Rigvedic tribe Aulan: (RV X/98/11). They are stated to be the descendants of King Ula, and Santanu was name of the Aulan King. They are to be identified with the present Aulan clan of the Jats.
