Learning Jats' history

From Jatland Wiki

Learning Jats' history is a fundamental ethnic Jat tribal concept and action and bedrock of Jat society. This Jat tribal teaching and tradition has been taught in Jat families, ever since the days when originally their Scythian ancestors lived in central Asia.

Jat teachings: A concept

There goes an old saying among the Jats:

  • "He who remembers his Jat history, honours his parents and ancestors. He who forgets his Jat history, spits on his parents and ancestors."

Therefore, in Jat tribal custom to learn and remember your history is to honour your family, parents and your ancestors. Without whom you would have never existed. To forget them, is to dishonour them and to be ungrateful for everything they have given to you, including your life.

There is an old Jat story,

Where a Jat boy asks his father and grandfather how he can repay them back for giving him life. Both father and grandfather reply by saying, "when we are gone remember us (including your ancestors) and tell your children about us. Then, that is all the repayment we need for giving you life".

Teaching Jat children

Children are the future of every people on earth. If your children die, then your people die, just like the dinosaurs. Moreover, No people on earth can survive without a history and culture. This is because your culture and history teaches you the "rules of life", makes you strong and gives you identity. You cannot win in the game of life if you do not know the "rules of life". If you do not know the "rules of life" then you are doomed to failure. Every people stores their own "rules of life" in their history, culture and identity.

There is an old Jat Proverb, "Forget your history and culture and you are assured defeat. Remember your history and culture and you are assured victory."

Therefore, it is very important for every Jat parent to teach their children Jat history so that they may be successful in their life. Moreover, this is necessary to keep the Jat people alive in "mind and body" into the next generation.

Historically in Jat history and in the 21st century (modern times) all Jat families place teaching Jat history to the girls and women as a special priority. Whether, a child is a boy or girl they will spend most of their young years with their mother. She is the one who will mainly influence the training of the children in their values and in shaping the childrens minds. Therefore, if the mother understands Jat history (which she learnt as a girl from her family) she will pass that knowledge onto the boys (the future Jat men) and the girls. Thereby, guaranteeing the children naturally learn about Jat history, culture and Jat identity.

"When a son or a daughter of a Jat family asks his parents and grandparents, how he can thank them for that they have given him a life on Earth, then they will respond that all they wish is that he should remember them and tell his children about them and their ancestors."[1]
