hi sandeep ,
first of all dont say me jee.
these days there is shortage of doctors in UK,but lots and lots of doctors are coming from India here.seen is different for different for speciality and it also depends on your education in india.i am sorry to say that you sent me little info.so let me know in which branch your wife is interested.if your wife is a postgraduate then dont take the PLAB.mail me as soon as possilble.so be in touch and tell me .the branch then i will able to tell you in detail.if she already took the date then ask her to read book written by Attish mathur i.e plab digest .also try to get pastest notes and fishtest notes.you can get these from delhi ,bombay or anyother metro.ther is no need to read text books in detail.try to concentrat on OHCM and OHCS(hope she might be having these books )and refer the text books when required.do as many EMQ as she can and try to solve each by making fundamentals.waiting for your reply.

hi danesh,
thanks for your friendly gesture. your brother is preparing for pg then let him prepare for that.i think his first preference should be PG in INDIA.but if he wants to settle down in UK then he can prepare for the UK.scene in ortho and surgery is ok.there are quite good job in surgery but career is bit longer than the medicine branchs.
cost of taking PLAB exam is around 3 lakh it includes all the expenses till one gets the job.getting first job in UK is difficult.it may take 4-6 months for a fresh graduate(MBBS).
so if your brother wants to settle in india ask him to do PG from India .
if you have some more questions you are most welcome.waitng for your reply.
regards.

I posted this message in 2002 and was not very active because of my career and other things. well this may be a good excuse for being lazy.

Anyway Ruby, i can not remember if we had conversation before as well. This is because I have a very very poor memory. I do apolizise if i forgot our previous conversation.

Please give me more information. But one thing is sure and that is think many many times before coming to the UK as it is very difficult to get a job as a doctor here in the UK and take this advice seriously.

if you want to know more about this go on to GMC web site and you will find the shocking statistics on that. There is also a yahoo group called indigo abd you can find that group if you type indigo and overseas doctors and UK in google or yahoo search engine.

You can find a lot of information about present situation in yahoo ingido group calle indigo.

So give me more information and let me know what else I can do for you.
I am a paediatrician and working as Specialist registrar in Cambridge in neonatology.

Best of luck for your future plans.

Bye

hello brother,

this is not a matter of debate and i fully agree with you that we need more doctors in India . But we do need some Jat doctors to help other jat brothers in the UK who wants to come here for further training and development.

good news is that most of the Jat doctors are willing to come back to serve India and indians.

Is that Ok, brother!!

I have qualified National Eligibility Test (CSIR-UGC), Graduate Apptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) and Junior Research Fellow (JRF) of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).I earned first class in my academic career. I would send my biodata immediately if someone feel free to help me.

I am still in the UK. Please visit GMC website if you want to come to the UK. I am not putting you off but you must know the situation properly. Knowledge is power and without knowledge you may have high expectations and that will only add to frustration.

So please check the GMC web site and also visit a yahoo group called Indigo. There is also a organization called BAPIO i.e British Association of Physician of Indian Origin. I do not know their web site but you can find that on google.

Believe me and please take my advice seriously. if you still want to come please let me know and I will help as much as I can. I am working as registrar in paediatrics and will help you if you need help.

Best of luck and be in touch.

Regards,

Arvind
