Dear Friends,
As we approach one year of our efforts with Jan Jagriti, its heartening
that with every one's cooperation and efforts we have been able to make
some progress-
1. Jan Jagriti becoming a registered NGO
2. www.janjagriti.com (http://www.janjagriti.com)
3. Our bank account with ICICI in name of 'Jan Jagriti Evam Kalyan
Sanstha' should become functional today.
4. Thanks to Karan's efforts our classes in the village have gained
momentum and populartiy among the children.

Now, with the funds and volunteers coming in, we can make good progress
in
our activities and plans.

Our one year is ending on 25th December and I propose an event in the
village on this occasion. More than a celebration, it ought to be
something creative and productive. Something that can bring the people
together.
Would request members to come up with ideas about the same. Members can
also volunteer organising specific parts of the event/activities.

Warm Regards

Navin bhai iam trying to get in touch with an NGO "Goonj" they work in and around delhi and there model is they collect material frm ppl which they dont need aslike books , stationery etc. and then they work with other NGO's and provide material to the one who needs it.

so i was thinking to arrange some infrastructure like libraray and other things we can contact them and can work along them , me trying to get the number of Mr Anshu Gupta who started this organisation, this guy left Escorts Communications and started the journey alone.

Iam trying my best to get in touch with him so lets see wat happens next :):)

Dear Friends,
1. I propose to organise our Annual Meet of Jan Jagriti at village Barhana on 25th Dec.
2. For the activities, we will involve students from 10 surrounding village schools.
3. In the days preceding the event we will organize English handwriting, English essay writing and drawing competitions in these schools and select 2 students from each age group in each school. They will be presented a book prize(i.e. they will be gifted a book as prize) each on the Event day 25th Dec.
4. We will also organize a 5 km open race for the youth which will begin and culminate at the school (with a prize money).
5. We can also organize some small races and events for girls and other school children.
6. We can have the race for over 60yr men (which was a hit event last year) with a prize of dhoti kurta.

Important:- We will need volunteers who can take on work related to specific events and activities.

Coming Sunday 26th November we will meet at Gurgaon at 10am to decide and plan in detail. All members(in and around Delhi) are requested to attend in time. Please confirm your attendance at the earliest.

Recently there have been some very positive milestones in the annals of JJ. I would like to take this opportunity to apprise members about these.
Firstly, the Bank Account along with FERA Clearance is in place. That gives us big room to spread the experince to newer places.
Secondly As the 1st centenary is appraoching there has been big event organised on 25th Dec and for that we need to straighten out plans this SUNDAY. Personally i have been tied down with lot of jobs, but since this holds a special place in my heart i have to be there and i would request all members to either send in there suggestions or be there on 26th, this Sunday.

Many regards to all

Dear friends,

We had a wonderful experience at Barhana recently.

Essay writing (alongwith handwriting) and Drawing competition for the students of 4 Schools were held in 3 groups.

One (5th) school was closed before we reached there. We went to Nanaji's house and bought out children from the vicinity - who were staying at home or were on a holiday. Nearly 30 children came to attend the competitions at Nanaji's house also.

Children were equally enthusiastic about Essay and Drawing.

The JJ team to village:

I got really nostalgic looking at the pictures. I was raised by my maternal grandparents in their village of Kheri Asra (Chahra aali). I spent most of my childhood there. When I wasnt at school, I was in Kheri.

I havent been there in ages now. My family visits me as my career obligations have tied me down.

What I have noticed over the years is that the social structure of our villages has changed a lot. The new generation does not have ample resources to support themselves and their young brides and children by relying on farming alone.

Financial stress has ripped apart neighborhoods. Neighbors are jealous of the same neighbors they grew up with for no good reason. Its just the frustration.

Many young boys are in Jails for petty crimes. Others are in the process of committing such crimes.

Sometimes I feel as if someone cast an evil spell on our villages. 15 years ago, things were totally different. Thats when the current generation was still growing up. They were supported by their fathers as farming land was enough compared to the respective numbers.

Its a tragedy. Last time I was there was 6 years ago. People who I kne well wont speak to me. Most of them are upset for personal reasons.

Does anyone think that it will get any better?

I personally beleive that an improvement in urban living standards has put a stress on the rural areas. People in rural areas are trying to match up with their urban counterparts. Everyone wants a color tv, telephone, scooter/car etc. And they do not have ample resources to get it all.

I was reading a story in TOI the other day. How some villages around delhi are getting prosperous by selling off their land. But, how many people realize that wealth accumulated by selling land is limited. They can have a high standard of living for now, or maybe for the rest of the life. But, when the coffers run dry, it will back to square 1. Back then you atleast had land. Now, even the land is gone. What do you do now?

I strongly believe that the numbers in our villages have outrun the opportunities because we do not invest in human capital at the same rate that we invest in luxuries of life. I think that these villages that are geting prosperous momentarily, need to throw some money into either setting up employment opportunities for their children or give them the best education that money can buy so that they can support them selves when their time comes.

Our people lack prudence. I really appreciate the effort that Jan Jagriti is making. But, I am not yet convinced about where this would lead us. I am not being pessimistic. But, I am very positive that we need to influence human action.

Building more schools is not going to help becuase the quality of education is poor. We really should not replicate the poor education any further. But, we must offer incentive good educational institutions to set up branches near our villages, where they can provide world class education to our children. I am too poor to donate now, but for those who are already donating for such causes they could contribute their resources for such causes. Even a dollar helps.

I know all those Sheikhs in the Gulf countries do what I just said. Over the last few decades, they got a lot of American, British and Indian institutions to teach their tribal children. For all these years these Sheikhs hired foreigners to rig their oil and run their economy. Now, the new generation of Sheikhs that is very well educated and highly qualified is ready to take control of their respective countries.

Instead of having a 100 poor quality schools that produce, 100,000 bad students who have no job prospects, what so ever, why not have 1 very high quality school that produces 1000 highly capable citizens who have excellent prospects. It could multiply from there on.

We need to get as many people as possible out of the villages and assimilate them in urban areas, until the land is to number of people balance is restored and our villages can revert back to doing what they do best: feed the rest of the country.

Bhai Sumit,
1. Rivalry and enemity in our comunity is as old as its history. Strong and impulsive reactions are in the Jat genes. Unless our wisdom overpowers our genes we will continue with these differences.
2. But there isnt reason to be too negative, love gets through every hatred. We are getting very good response from every one. So many people in village have said to us "jab aap log hamare gaaon ke liye itna kuchh kar rahe ho to ham bhi pura jor lagaaenge aur apna pura sahyog denge"
3. Your point about quality education is absolutely right. If you see our 'vision' at www.janjagriti.com , quality education is our moto too.
Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts.

Dear Friends,
Our activities/classes have been going well.
Yesterday a few girls told me that they never have any function/celebration in their school and they were keen on having something on 26th jan. I met the principal who allowed us to organize something on 25th since the school staff was not prepared to come on 26th. Tomorrow we will have the students prepare some patriotic songs and will organise some poetry recitation and a small flag hoisting/marching. I, there after met our respected nanaji and asked him to arrange to distribute sweets in the school kids that day from village funds only. Have already arranged an Indian flag with a pole and will distribute small paper flags to the kids.
It is only a school function involving kids, staff and JJ members. No outside crowd/vip has been invited. I would request all JJ people willing to come to contact me on 9810245996 or come directly to the govt girls school at 9.30 am on 25th Jan, Friday.

Dear all,

We all have made good efforts by making good start, but that itself is not enough. As the organisation grows, its needs also grows with it, and , it is a chicken and egg situation i.e the organisation can not grow unless its needs are met. I will briefly state where we are at this point of time :-

- A new- look website is functional now
- We have around 15 active and 20 need-based-active and around 50 dormant members.
- Our pilot project at barhana is doing well, but still a lot needs to be done before we start emulating it elsewhere
- Funds of around 1 lakh has been colelcted and spent in various activities.
- funds of around 4 lakh has been promised
- Karan has been staying in the village for 6/7 months, now, and doing very well
-Computers and library has been promised and some progress has been made

Now what needs to done at this point to accelerate the work is :-

- We need to hire a proffesional guy to handle all our accounts, ideally a member of JJ who can work as part time will be ideal for the job. May be we train a guy from the village under him and gradually put entire process under him
- interested members are requested to visit website and send their suggestion
- Fundraising of around 10 lacs should be targetted by end of jul 07
- acclerate all work like library, computers rooms, and hirirng of teachers/ members here for counselling and guidance
- institute montly/quarterly meeting with all interested members and evolve a long term and short term strategy etc.

Suggestions and volunteers are required for the above mentioned observations . Please visit www.janjagriti.com and the comments can also be send there.

Hi Ramesh

I can do the accounting free of cost if you dont mind a long distance accountant......

are you looking for somebody who can prepare balance sheets for you or somebody who actually disburses funds?

I think we shouldn't get into what is the government's responsibility i.e. hiring of teachers....whatever teachers are already there should be made more accountable and jan jagriti people volunteering there can supplement that.

Our aim should be to make current systems more efficient rather than replacing them with our own....because it will be very hard to sustain it otherwise......it will get us into infrastructure building which is a little tough to achieve only through contributions....and I do not know where it would lead us....

Just some thoughts and concerns, looking forward to other people's suggestions...

Hi Priti,
The reason why i suggested to hire an accountant is that when i met Navin bhai, i found him too much distracted with day today hassles of maintaining an account and putting all bills together. So i suggested may be we have somebody who does all accounting, maintains a sheets of contributors and balance sheet on the website etc + he can be used for running around. Navin, khusi and some more volunteers have been going to village almost on daily basis and the above mentioned activities have been consuming their valuable time. So, i think a local guy can start doing all these things+ he can send all this for auditing to u.

Hiring a teacher for English alone is must and has been discussed with all other members during various visits ( collecting funds for this is not a problem)

like u have said, for other subjects the volunteers are going on week days and weekends.

We are planning to have a meeting this month, to discuss these issues and future endeavours.

Members here are requested to contribute.

I agree with you Ramesh and in that case it is a good idea to hire someone from the village itself for taking care of bills and all.

If it was agreed by all the members to hire an English teacher, then you must go ahead with it.

I request all the members here to contribute in whatever capacity they can. Kindly visit the website www.janjagriti.com (http://www.janjagriti.com) , make yourself familiar with the mission and activities. We have a large number of members here. Even if every member here contributes 100-500 rupees on a monthly basis, it can make a huge difference.

Dear Friends,
I and bro Vikas Narwal have been working overtime on ground to set things up. There is a lot to do so I will just give a quick feedback.
1. Because of Sidhanti Bhawan being brought down for renovation we were out of space and were looking for a place which we could hire for JJ. Found one, approved it for a rent of 500Rs monthly. The place is in a mess but ideally located and suited for us. Despite Holi being in between myself and Vikas have given ourselves time till 7th Mar to get it going. ‘Before’ pic attached. And ‘after’ pic will follow.
2. Three member staff has been selected.
a) Bro Arvind Jakhar will be responsible for all ground work in village, including English, maths, computer classes and competition preparation. He is MA, MHM, Bed and JBt qualified.
b) Geeta Ahlawat, who is severly polio effected and cant walk but has done her 12th std and wants to follow further studies by correspondence, will be our librarian.
c) Kiran who is an MA and a housewife from village will handle the girls classes and will be an additional teacher under training right now.
3. Some books have been procured, more Vikas will be procuring by 5th and also blackboard and other stationary.
4. Vikas and some of his friends have visited the village schools as volunteers on 1st March.
5. We also collected required documents from 10 disabled (a few more awaited) youth from the village to procure free wheelchairs for them from the Ministry of Social Welfare(i have a friend there).
Regards and Best Wishes for Holi.

Excellent idea, requested Harvinder bhai to provide necessary assistance.

Just thinking if we could have a fund raising here + a meet to have fund raising.

Priti, ya, the idea is good, some volunteers have to get together and plan a campaign in whic these activities viz a viz ragini, play, talks are organised.

myself and khushi have been making trips to the village. Its getting hot and difficult to get kids to come but we are able to get them morning hours.
paralelly i am working on procuring fcra from home ministry so that we can continue getting funds from najc.

Right now it is important that we have more volunteers planning more activities as myself and khushi arent enough to plan all. it would even be fine if some activities are planned in any other village. Some people do have a feeling thati may be having personal interest in this village. Though my own village is a small village 'kheri jat' near badli. I am willing to come to any village for any activity.

Bhai Naveen ... in marhana atleast we are getting support from the sarpanch (your mama ji) ... I think its not good to change the base merely on words of some .... kise doosre gaam mein jaoge to koe aur kime kahe dega ... ke hude te bhi bhaj lyange ... NO ... haan it may be difficult to get the involvement of the opposite parties there in village ... but when they will see that their own children are getting benefitted of this ... they will come with us ...

Haan you are right that we need some more active members to counter this initial friction ...

Thanks for appreciating the idea Navin, and as usual we can always rely on Ramesh to make ideas into reality!

Regarding the location of JJ activities, I guess people will have to accept that without a growth in JJ funds and most importantly Volunteers, its going to be very hard to expand the base of the activities to more villages. If people are raising question regarding that then they have to be willing to spend their time and efforts in order to justify their statements, its very easy to criticise without putting any effort. So I would suggest that given the resources, it is better to focus on a village where some goodwill and network has already been established.

We need to think about having more volunteers and fund raising....any ideas??

Getting volunteers?
See, at present frankly and unfortunately most people settled in cities have 'going to the village' as a very low priority if not unthinkable.
But there are a large number who are eager to do something, thats the number we have to work on.
Secondly, i feel college students can be very good volunteers. They are young and enthusiastic and eager. But i dont have any contact in any college.

Bhai Ramesh,
Right now I am more involved with work relating to administrative set up of JJ and the classes.
All activities and plans of JJ are requiring efforts. Jatland has a few limited members and most of them who could have already contributed.
I feel instead of fund raising we should look towards fund generation. One has to work on ideas to make that a reality.

Sub : Verdict to everyone

I am new to this forum. I like to introduce myself. I am from Charkhi Dadri and I am telecom engineer by profession working in US. I also involed organization in India one of them Asha and second one Khushboo Welfare Society
I like vision of Jan Jagriti and would like to help out in my capacity. I am trying to open myself one school in Dadri. It will not be simple school it will also train students so that they can find jobs after finishing their schooling . It will sort of ITI based school and train students since beginning. We need group which has same idea I would also like to invite every member over here to participate and explore our mission. As I like concept of Jan Jagriti group. People who are devoting their time and money. I am currently working on different way to raise funds. I am not asking funds here from anyone. I have different approach for that.

All I am asking if you can join hands together and we can expand mission of Jan Jagriti. Is this organization has FCRA clearance ? I am looking for volunteers to help me out for my special events. Please do not take me wrong here and I also like to give flame to this revolution and like to move on with your spirit. If you like we can open yahoo group and exchange our dialogue to make it more like group thing. And that way we can communicate much faster.

For the involvement of JJ, I would request you to go through the discussions in the thread and also the website of JJ so that you become aware how it evolved and you would get answers to most of your questions. Discussing all over again will become repetitive.
JJ is in the proess of aquiring FCRA, may take a month or two more.
The efforts and energy of JJ and its volunteers is with you as and when you require.
Personally too, if you require any assistance from me, just let me know.
Keep your enthu going! Theres a lot to do.

We should take governmnet and Corporates along with us. We shouldn't wait that we will do some thing of big bang and than Government or companies will notice us and pour monies. We should start working with government for support, infrastructure and policy making and also should be ready for immediate utilisation of all these developed resources. And i am sure we should approach for bigger fund, resources and tie ups with corporate firms. i am having something in mind like

1. Every state having an Edusat VSAT network that comes under Sarv Siksha Abhiyan. SO this network covers state wide schools and colleges and having two way Video and teaching capability. The studio for this located at Panchkula. And this netwrok lies ideal most of time and will not occurs much of cost for us if we get permission to use this network for some specialised courses. it may be we find very few terminals for this network in village but its very easy to set up recieve only terminals.

2. We could DD network for broadcasting good programme for our network also. by this way we can get quality resource and bigger coverage.

Being in Networking and broadcasting domain i am more inclined to these technologies but believe me these things solves many issue which prevent large scale implementation of these kind of projects.

Dear Friends,
Jan Jagriti was and is an action based effort. Every single of our thoughts and plans have been converted into action on ground.
However, the interest in JJ viz a viz JL has come down to a near zero.
Is it that we are only inclined towards lip service, words as that is so much more easier compared to ground work.
In our daily lives do we do any little thing which in any way contributes towards the welfare of the society.
We are simple citizens but daily with our actions and behavior, are we giving any positive input to the society.
1. if we dont find a dustbin, do we throw the paper/banan peel on the road.
2. Are we willing to pick fights or we spread understanding and compassion.
3. Do we leave a chance to corrupt the system if it is in our interest.

Secondly, we tend to put in lots of ifs and buts. Any effort to grow needs full, unwavering support. Being too skeptical plays spoilsport.

You're right Shashi....infact whenver i donate i think n convince my soul as if i didn't buy a pair of Jeans/Apparel....The first time i donated for Jan Jagriti was when i wanted to buy a GUESS Jeans for 10000/- and the sort of soul satisfaction i got after donation is inexplicable in WORDS or any way:)
Gud Sunita...
I am sure this will encourage others as well to be a part of it.
I would like to request others also to please come forward and be part of it.
I am sure these small contributions would not make any difference to our pockets but these would surely make a difference in the life of those angels.
Atleast now when you are sure that your hard earned money would not be wasted...please do think about it.
I am sure its our interest and willingness which will take it ahead.

Dear JJ team

I would request you to put up the requirements as stated above from time to time , so that members can plan to either donate the item or send the funds for things / stuff required, sometimes it has been observed that donating a physical material gives more satisfaction to an individual then parting away with cash.

This way we all would be aware of ground realities and the shortage at the site, and thus would be compelled to fulfill our social responsiblities.

Dear All,

I had posted my thoughts on JJ on 28 Dec 2005. I am pasting them again for consideration by members.

"A good beginning and my congratulations to all those who were involved in this ice breaking and trend setting meet. The task is huge and there is no time to waste.

The key to a successful community development effort is to take everyone together without expecting anything in return. More often than not despondency sets in after a while and that is the biggest challenge. There are more reasons than one for such a stage to arrive and the foremost is having an AIM that is impractical. If the AIM is modest and targets the grass root problem, success is likely. Therefore, the aim must be well thought out and maintained at all times.

Nothing would happen till the times the villagers themselves are not convinced of the urgent need of ‘Education’ and ‘Being Equipped to Face the Challenges’. And they would be convinced only when the group wanting to make a difference is well equipped to make that difference. By being well equipped I mean that members should be able to devote time, energy, resources and money to achieve the chosen aim. It is a long haul and the results would take years. As time passes one would also realise that no amount of effort was enough and so much more could have been done. Therefore, it is important to chart out a well thought out ‘Rural Developmental Schedule’ so that it could be taken up elsewhere too as a ‘Model Project’.

I strongly believe that in order to make any progress on this front we need a group that visits the villages (better if one is from that area) and assesses the need. I can give out a few even without visiting a village: Clean drinking water, Sanitation, Primary education, English speaking, Primary health, Inoculation, Access to Markets for Agricultural Produce, Liquor, Drugs, Crime, Focus on Girl Child, Dowry, Village Politics, Alternate Energy Sources and Accountability of Panchayats.

Once the needs are assessed, the next step is to tackle them in their order of priority, as each area would have a different priority.

How to find the resources to best address each issue? Besides sincerity of purpose and will to make a difference, the most important factor that would decide the outcome of the effort would be FUNDS. However, I feel if we can all join hands even that should not be a major problem. I had given this suggestion in my village 25 years back and was laughed at but I was right because my suggestion meant sacrifices from those who had left the village for greener pastures. The suggestion is simple and I don’t mind repeating it here. Each person who has left his village and has a monthly income (Government, Private, Self-employed, Business, Thief, Dacoit, Smuggler etc etc) must make a monthly contribution in cash to a fund that should be controlled. There is no other way to do any of the above mentioned insurmountable tasks without a collective effort of this nature. If each person can contribute even 3 - 5% of his income for the betterment of his own village, we can succeed. Can we start doing so from 01 JAN 2006? No NEW YEAR RESOLUTION can be better than this? You would be surprised to know the amount of money that can be collected. Each village has at least 200, if not more, persons who are working. An average salary of Rs 20,000/- per month is taken for rough calculations. 200 people X Rs 20000 X 12 Months = Rs 4,80,00,000. And 3 - 5% of that is Rs 14,40,000/- & Rs24,00,000/- respectively (hope my calculation are right?). We can change the face of our villages in 10 years flat.

There is nothing to ponder but members may have a different view".

Regards,

JS Malik

Taking que from Jaggu sir,i wish to say that it is not a simle job to do,specially in our villages where every selfless and kind deed is seen with a suspecious eye.Every one is a namberdaar and more than required wise.the foremost thing will be the sacrifice by some one to undertake a 24x7 responsibility on ground...has rto base himself/herself there in the village...to try impart QUALITY education to the young children......this is the only area which needs to be addressed...and rest of the things will take care of themselves. When the resolution is backed by undying efforts...people in the villages will toe the line and there after it will be very easy. But unfortunately what is being done is far from the reality and thats why inspite of best efforts of Navin bhai and others the desired results are eluding the organization.

More than the funds it is the relentless pursuit which is the call of the hour and unless that is addressed in right earnest,no significant results will be forthcoming. Not withstanding the above my committment to any good cause is always unquestionable.

Dearest and Respected dev Sir, I have begged your forgiveness with folded hands for any unintentional hurt i have caused.

1. Can you say i have scanty regards for you or for that matter for any jatland member(junior or senior)?
2. JJ core group was meeting for discussions(on 11th only) irrespective of the get togather. Any JJ core group member can confirm that.
3. In your last post on 'get togather' thread you said "since things are not working out i will only invite shashi bebey and family for lunch/diner". After this me, khushi, manisha and vikas asked whether we were invited. You didnot reply for two days. So i offered people a choice to visit JJ in village. it is just an offer.
Why is it being taken that i am doing something against you?
In work, miscommunication can happen but i can assure you with my blood i never had and never can have wrong intentions against you or anyone else.

We are all children of the same soil. How can we be different. I will say, let us get together and set an example of unity to every one. After all, our karm and uddeshya is same - wellfare of rural area, and the motive should come first.

We have to fight this bigger battle together.

Come hail or snow, wind or fire, let us all meet on 11th.
Dev Sir, this meet will be incomplete without you. Everyone wants you.

BLS Sir,
It would have been great if you would have been present. Would have been a blessing.

Write up-

Sometime back I had put up an offer that since the JJ core group was intending to meet on 11th, we could meet at the JJ project at village. Despite the long ditance and time involved it was great that Shashi Verma, DN deshwal Sir, Bhai Amit Chillar, Ravi Godara (all the way from Jaipur) and JJ volunteers sunita, bharti, koyal, khusi and me were present. JJ employees in village Taqdir and geeta were also there.

Thanks to Khusi and mamiji for the food.

Bhai Amit narrated one joke ‘ek chhore ka pajaama paat rya tha. Dura chhora bolya – rai tera pajaama paat rya. Wo chhora bolya – yo itna saara kurta pajaama sim rya wo tai deekhya nahin, yo paatya od badaa deekh gya.’

Chutkala chhota sa thaa, par seekh badi thi.

In process of our discussions we tried to look at the ‘simya od/stitched’ part of jan jagriti and the ‘paatya od/torn’ part also.

to be continued--

Running a social work is not lip service. Vikas, Sunita, Bharti, jitender, taqdir, geeta me and khushi have been slogging it out on ground. Taking time and efforts to visit and move the mud has got us where we are, where we have a full set-up place for JJ. Whether it was whitewashing, electrical fitting, carpentry, buying books, darees, blackboards, furniture and all stuff and taking it there, conducting classes, dealing with local issues. Thanks to these efforts, besides the regular classes we had taken at government schools, the classes at the JJ venue have been going on for over six months. This wouldn’t have been possible without some real and sincerely exhaustive efforts.
JJ needs, moral and positive support much more than it would need funds.

“JJ jas always been open to suggestions, inputs and involvement” – not one instance can be quoted when JJ was not so.

JJ experience

Education in all its forms is the single factor/agenda that can improve the quality of life in the villages and give the children a fair chance for a bright future.
Our observation in two lines
1. Girls are sincere, eager and hard working because they are very disciplined. They only need academic help.
2. Boys have been thoroughly pampered and spoilt by the parents (exceptions). They need to be motivated to work hard and the parents need to be advised to give them discipline.

There is not one child in the village who doesn’t want to learn english, science and maths. There is no child who doesn’t want to slog for a bright future. Only Thing – most of them don’t get any opportunity to do so. No one teaches them a word of english, science or maths.
This is what JJ intends to provide them. So that tomorrow they can be bright and responsible citizens of a better India.

Hi Gulia brother,
I am working in UK so not possible to attend the function otherwise I would have loved to be there. I am coming in March for few weeks I will definitely visit JJ at that time. My village bhambhewa is very near from Barhana.
I am sending a small amount of money through Jitender Hooda. Please buy some books and distribute among the kids on republic day. I think urself, Jitender, sunitaji and all the actively working people of JJ r doing great job for the kids in rural areas. In future also I will keep sending some financial help. Please do let me know whenever any help is required.
I think education is the only alternative to help these kids because if you notice most of us were from very rural back ground. Theek thak padh likh ge to aj thode bahut kamyab hue hai warna aise hi dakhe kha rahe hote gam mein.

We want to open a vocational project for girls there who are physically challenged, orphaned or abandoned by in laws or needy for whatever reason.
The project should need minimum resource investment and should make the girls start earning with minimum training and in shortest time.

Regarding larger participation of women in social and cultural life in rural Haryana region Dr. D R Chaudhary has written an article which has appeared in the Tribune, dated 9th December, 2013 on the OPINION page 14 as 'Male Bastions Under Attack'. If the trend continues to get required momentum ,it is hoped that it would be real empowerment of women not in too distant future in the State.
