This was in the HT of today:
It happened in 1997 or 1998. I was bowling to him and words were being exchanged, though I must say Tendulkar used to speak less. When it became too much, he said 'Aaqib, stop it for God's sake. I am fed up with this (sledging).' I said 'OK, go and play your game'. "When I used to sledge, he used to bat defensive and wait for my overs to finish. And if a player like Sachin was defensive, it meant that you had gained.” — Aaqib Javed Sami: You don't seem to be hit ting fours now, what happened? Veeru: How many fours you now want me to hit?" Sami: 'Seedha khel sakta hai to khel (play straight if you can). Veeru : 'Tu seedha to phek' (if only you could bowl straight)".
