hello friends !
i am facing a very peculiar problem with my system, i am using win98 and win2000, one my drive (drive E ) is showing used space and free space from the outside the drive.
But as i enter the drive it shows just one folder and this folder is also empty.
This means, i don't see any data in this drive.
I am stuck , what to do next.
Plz if anybody of you know how to get rid of this problem, do tel me.
my mail address is

Yes this can be a problem of hidden files only. same problem I experienced on one of the servers in Infosys and hidden files took nearly 9 Gb of the disk partition.....find the hidden files and remove if not required.

Yes it could be because of hidden files.
But if it is not so could you elaborate upon the problem and give details like how much used space it shows,What are the file systems(NTFS or FAT32) .Which drive contains which OS. Is this problem in both the flavors of Windows?

And don't forget to run a latest antivirus. Does it detect any problem?

hi !
as i told u ,i have both the windows2000 and windows98. First it was seen in win98, but when i checked this in win2000, it was same there.
this drive is of about 8gb, and it is ful upto 6 gb
. And i had tried that also, show all hidden files, but it didn.t help.
thankgod , i have myself retrieved my data.
its with the help of a data recovery tool , called easyrecovery
and after that it came to my mind, to check the drive by disk scanner, it showed some interllinking problem, and asked for fixed it , and i allowed that, then it also retrived some data. Isn't it interesting?
i dont know it was some dual boot problem or what.
what u people think , what it could be/
