Booming Business of Fake Medicines:

Enormity of spurious drugs selling can be understood from the following.
“ According to the World Health Organisation, 35 per cent of the fake drugs produced in the world come from India which has as Rs. 4,000 crores spurious drug market. Almost 20 percent of the medicines in the country are fake.” Jogindar Singh, former Director of CBI wrote in Asian Age [16 June,03]

“ There was suspicion about the negligence of the Department of Drugs Control when a few deaths were reported in Kolar because of spurious drugs.” Wrote Rajan Bala in Asian Age [6 June’03]

“Delhi High Court on Wednesday issued a series of direction to the government to check the proliferation of spurious drugs in the country… The order was given by the court while hearing a case on death of four patients allegedly being administered contaminated fluid” [Hindusthan Times, 31 July’03]

•“ Last month, part of a drug consignment for Delhi Municipal Corporation-ru dispensaries was found to be fake.
•One crore rupees worth spurious drugs, sized recently in Patna, includes fake labels of reputed firms like Morpen, Ranbaxy and IPCA.

•In south India, Madurai, Coimbatore and Salem have become major supply centre for illegal medicines.

•The main dealers of spurious drugs found in Gujarat are traced to border district of Sriganganagar of Rajasthan.”

Dr saheb ke krran sabh kimm beimanni ki daldal mei dubbya padya sei....shukkar sei iss hawa pei bhagwaan nei aadami ka control na rakhya na tei hum sarre sidd-2 marr lyan hei......don't worry God[nature works round the clock to cut these idiots to size] We are safe generally till such time there is God over us. Aaadammi tei aaj kal badbbo ka bhandaar ho liya...insaniyat girvi rakh di arr sabh kimme gandda ho liya.Least talked is better about.

this is such a sad state!! a few months ago, expired drugs were being dispatched to inpatients/outpatients in CMC chandigarh :eek: ... and they were caught red handed... I am quite sure ab enquiry baith jaayegi aur chai paani piyegi, what else??.. pathetic!!!:mad:
