Lack of Girls in Jat Community

Dear Jatland Members,

I think all of us are aware about this problem in our society.

You see the numbers of females per 1000 males is decreasing gradually in haryana and specially in JATs. This is creating problem in getting bride for less qualified or poor boys. This results in frustations in boys and finally creats so many social problems.

So i am worried about the condition in fore-coming dayes.

Their are so many genius members on Jatland who can focus on this issue and suggest some solutions for this problem so that our coming generation can be saved from the effect of this problem.

Please share your views on this problem and suggest some practical solutions for the same.

As long as the preference for the male child continues this will continue to happen. Education helps - but I have seen educated ppl do it too. I think we need to have more opportunities for women - so that parents don't think of them as burden - will take a couple of generations for that to happen. Till then they can marry - ahem! - buy ;) girls from other regions. we still live in medieval times - haha!!

Threre are some social and educational warts too, but DOWRY is the main driving reason.

Now, are going to be the days of reverse dowry. Pay back time -;(.

This is nothing more than a natural balancing act.

bahi ye problem to age or bhee bahde gee kyo ki ham kitni bhi tarakki kar le
hamara ladkiyo ke prati najariya nahi badlega. Aaj bhee padhe likhe log
santan ke roop me ladke ko hee chahte hai.

ees samasya ko door karne ke liye jaruri hai vicharo ko badalna. or

first of all thanx for ur valuable thoughts u shared here

most of u are pointing out the partial behaviour of parents towards girl child.
parents dont want a girl and kills the infant if she is girl.

this is wat u all talking is the fact we are seeing in society.

Now the main point is we have to find out the reason for this partial behaviour towards girls??????????????????????
What is compelling the parents to kill their child?????????

I dont think any human is so much crucial that he / she kills his / her own son or daughter.

But this is still happening.................

It is a big question .....................

We have to find out the reason and then the way to rectify that..........




I thought a lot on this matter....................

I found DOWRY is playing central in all this happening.

Wo dahej ka darr hai jo ek mata-pita ko apni jaan se pyari bachchi ki jaan paida hone se pehale hi lene ko majboor kar deta hai.

Jitna pyar aur ijjat ek mata-pita ko apni ladki se mil sakti hai wo ladke se kabhi nahi , fir bhi wo log ek ladki ghar mein paida nahi hone dena chahate????/

hamein ye karna hi hoga........................

beacause of this if people who already have a girl child
desparately wants a boy as their second child.
Probability of abortion increases even more when couples
have two girl children & are trying for third.
Only Education & Time can cure this problem

You have brought out a good point. I think there is no need for dusar, teesar and all that related nonsense. I've seen girls in the villages who *demand* all these things. Even the brothers have to contribute - even if they are not well off and have their own family to take care of. This freeloading needs to stop - its a really old practice and only increases bitterness between the related parties. Help should only be extended if you are physically or mentally not able to take care of yourself or if it helps increase somebody's potential or self-worth (for instance - education) - every other gesture is bullsh#$.
