that was a really exhaustive list!
I noticed one thing about it - they were mostly individual achievements. They donot give the the complete picture of the country as a whole.
As a society we are (I am talking about the majority!!)
1) Corrupt
2) Casteist
3) Sexist
4) Dishonest
5) Unfair
6) Passive
7) Selfish

These characteristics take greater precedence as you move East toward UP/Bihar. Its a different world out there.

All these evils I will blame squarely on the government and religion because they dominate the behaviour of any society.
I have a related question - Who in the world came out with the idea of a mixed economy! for India during the time of independance. Was he trying to F#$% us all over - makes me really mad.
