No question of leaving India for anything.Never ever thought of it.The very thought puts me off.Nothing like my own MATRABHUMMI...and nothing like my roots.

Jo yahan hei wo pardesh mein nahin
Merre India jaissa koi aur desh nahin
Sabhi tammannayein hui yahan puuri
Ab koi tammanna seshh nahin.

Arey I am Indian n i av asked to i shud also answer na :D
I dont want to live outside my country, really :) But for sure, i want to see whole world :D

I wont say big things that i luv my country or wanna do anything for the pride of India :D Only 1 reason which is very simple also- Apni cheez apni hoti hai chahe jaisi bhi ho. Whether v luv our family or not v cant leave it, S/O or D/O wud always be there, surname or cast or religion will always be there same ways my country is mine.

Hey please dont take it otherwise, it is big for me so i said but may be for some people its true, vo sach me kuch karna chahte hon country k liye.

Along with homour, there is some philosophical and emotional content in it.

For me, there is a sentimental value in the place where I was born and spent my childhood. Once left that there is no limit and I follow the Green. -:)

From my perspective, considering I'm already "abroad", I'd like to return to India "one day" (don't ask me when's that day gonna be).
Actually let me explain it a little, its like a bavandar here, jo ek baar fans gaya vo fans gaya, isse bahar nikalna mushkil hai (namumkin nahin). Its a humungous confusion as to which place is better. Its a dilemna, I think, everybody has whether to move back or to continue and probably by the time one realises that, its probably too late to go home (kids start going to school, one gets used to the system etc. etc.)
When I came here, I was pleasantly surprised by the system here, you don't have to bribe your way out of everything, everything is systematic, roads are terrific etc. etc. so it was a pleasant surprise in a way but in the end it comes down to just one thing, "Its just not Home".
Now that I have a job, I can support my family better, I can help out friends who're not dng good with their jobs, I can be extravagant at times etc. etc. but in the end it comes down to just one thing, "Its just not home".

This has been my story so far, I don't know what's in store for me in future but yes, I'd like to settle in india.

Na jee na main nahi ja sakta hamesh key liyea kisi bhee dusrey desh may.

I got 5 chances to go abrod for job but every time I think-wahan gharwaley
nahi hongey-dost, resteyday nahi hongey-apne desh nahi hoga- apno ka payar nahi hoga--yahan apnoo ko koi dukh, dard hua to main aapno key saath nahi hunga. Fir us paise ka kya fayada hum to yahan kum khaa ker bhee
khush raheygay. Jo kush ho sakeyga aapeney desh mey rehker desh key liyea karangey.

Appne desh kuchh bee kar, dusrey ka desh thukney ka bhee dar.

Har Janam Mujhey Bharat hee melay or woo bhee Jaat key ghar.

When I came here about 11 years back. most of the people who came here were in IT field and every now and then this discussion used to be there in the gatherings. And most of 95% or may 100% people used to be of the opinion that they want to go back. Few of them even used to give like 5 years from now, 2 years later and so and so. Today I see most of the people here may be 95% of them.

Mere hisab te te, live where ever you feel comfortable or if not comfortabl;e than make your self comfortable.

As a kid when we moved from villege to Faridabad, it used to be just like pardes, even if it was in Haryana. Par gam me ja ke jo swad aya karta ussa Faridabad me katti nahi aya. So if I can justify move from villege to Faridabad, why not from Faridabad/Delhi to US. And in future why not back to India, if find more appropriate.
Any way you never know where life takes you.

I would say it's a personal choice. I know there are guys in India who are dying to get out of India at any cost. I met one in a family marriage and whole night he kept requesting me to arrange something for him abroad. 2 years on he still has some hope. But I couldn't tell him the truth that it's not possible for a guy with his profile to immigrate to Europe. May be he'll be able to make it illegally.

On the otherhand, there are desi guys here with me who always in social meeting say that they are more Indian than others. One of those cases is funny..that guys works for Texas Instruments in Bangalore, he's on a 2 years long project in France...How one can be more Indian if he works for US company and works in France...very strange!!

Personally I am here in France for last 5 years but won't stay here for life. Main reason for my going back would be the career for my kids. Here there is no competition...but my kids needs to have a taste of what exists in India. They must be able to compete in that world as well. In that there is no choice but go back.

In my life I have reached to a point where my location on the face of Earth hardly makes any difference. My life style is hardly affected whether I am in India or anywhere else in the world. I am very comfortable where ever I travel and I rarely identify myself with the place. Truely speaking, I have created a small USA for myself in India and a small India in UK and USA. Therefore it hardly matters where I am....LOL

Ranbir Bhai,

Well said

I think this might be the most appropriate answer, rest depend on person to person and his/her priorities.

To be of a very honest openion, i would definately luv to get settled outside, desh prem hai aur bahut hai, but how does it makes a diffrence if someone is in india or outside india.... on the other hand i cannot compare the two as i have never ever been given a chance to be settled outside india, whn i visited out of india as a turist i did discover that life is different, and it was all appealing me to be a western by nationality.

malik saab i do agree in india one is a freewilly, but then also thers a fact that respect for LAW and LIFE does not exist here.

a bit humrous but if sumone has loads of money, thers absolutely no better place than india, coz one can buy any thing here.:D :D :D

Nobody would like to settle outside India if following things are mended in our country :

1) Improved traffic sense..everybody driving in lanes, 2-wheelers in a separate lane, nobody criss-crossing, everyone stopping at red-lights and no more 20 ka note to traffic havaldar

2) Most basic necessities available to each common man : Clean drinking water, 24hr electricity

3) All government run organizations are made internet savvy so that we can fill our water, electricity bills, tax forms online and no more chakkars of government babus and greasing their palms

4) Effective, compassionate and educated police force. Nobody has to fear to goto police station and giving money to them for getting your complaint registered

5) And last but not the least, basis civic sense in every citizen. Everybody treating public property as their own

Money is not the only factor in settling outside India. But even after the above factors, every Indian wants to return back to india for one basic reason, Own family, own people, own country and the chahal-pahal and raunak of India which is missing in foreign countries..

Intersting question Sukarma....well i wanted to n still look forward to. Why..? for the wide-wide scope in the west for my subject, specialy in research, which unfortunately we dont have here in our MotherIndia. And i dont understand why we are so against of settling outside of India as seen in most of replies...Do we think NRIs are less dedicated to their motherland than we people who are living in India.? It isnt so...i ve been abroad.. n frankly speaking the kind of work culture those people have, we seriously lack here and Indians there are as much concerned and in touch with the day to day ongoings in every field.. be it politics, cricket, or bollywood. Com'on we are living in an age of global universe, so what difference it makes which part of world we are living in. And that doesn't mean at all that I love my country less than any other citizen. I am deeply rooted to my culture n country , and so ll I always be, whereever I live.

hi .... i agree with neelam and have the same opinion. I think the best way of serving mother india is to help it make it better and i think best way i think is that if i have enough money more then what i need then i will give it to needy one and have their education sponsored .. as i am unmarried still and i really dont what lies ahead in life ..... i think that i can do if i will go abroad and have my savings though its possible here also .... i will try to help those parents who r hardworking and still need some help to have their child education sponsored ......STILL I AM HAVING MY FINGERS CROSSED BECAUSE JINDAGI KAB KIS KO KIS MOD PE LE JAAYE KUCH NAHI PATA....ONLY THING I HAVE IN MY HAND IS DOING HARD WORK AND REST DEPENDS ON GOD WHAT HE HAS STORED FOR ME

well said naveen, and truly once what was blamed as 'Brain Drain', now has given the status of IT professionals providing country and has helped the whole world to recognize India's and Indians' worth. and NRIs are investing all their savings here in India only.
Still its equally true, you never know where your destiny is going to take you....We should work hard to realize our dreams, rest leave on the God; as certain things are so uncertain in life ! I liked your idea of being open to all options..that way one wud be happy where ever he lives.
hey me too belong to Rohtak, our CM city..:)

1) No one here against anything, only expressing views :)
2) How can we have that kind of work culture here, our most of the working class (cream) is there :D
3) Bilkul difference hai, aap sab migrate ho jaenge to India ki development kaise hogi :D India doesnt need money only :)
No issues Neelam Ji & Naveen, only a view. We all know humans value after losing. So i agree NRIs luv their country :)

what u want or not aapka jaha dana paani likha h vahi rahna padta h.I have to come to america because my husband wanted to.and now ihave to may be settle here because my son is doing really well in studies here and we think its for his best interest to continue studies here only .so i wont be able to go for his sake.
but that does not mean we r not indian .or i am not D/O of my dad .being in india u can not claim u love ur parents more than daughters living here.
