cricket is even worse... football is pathetic ...such a huge population... talent also.... but thanx 2 our politicians.

I think the glory days of Indian Hockey would come back in near future. And moreover I think its not the politicians but the popularity of the game in general. I don't think we're producing a big pool of talent.

cricket is glamerous game and perint media and electornic media is responsible for that.but for hockey this media has done nothing. if we see the selectors for both cricket and hockey ,there are some similarties in that.according to me hockey selectors are better than cricket selectors at least they know how to play the game but regonal baising is a big hurdle for selection a better team otherwise talant KI KAMI NAHI HAI

bhee bhoot se khiladee hai bahar ke par gill ne apnee chalayee.

pahale hockey me paisa nahi tha ab sahara kee sponsarship ajaane se
hockey kee bhee doordasha cricket jaisee hee hone wali hai.

With due respect, mere hisaab se sponsorship aane se kisi bh khel ka fayda hua hai nuksaan nahin. Agar sponsorship na ho to jitne khilaadi abhi indian hockey main hain vo bhi bhookhe mar jaayein.
The thing thats alarming is the larger than life image of players even which is acceptable if somebody has done enough for the country eg. sachin.

hockey hamara rashtriya khel hai lagta nahi
kyunki bahut kam naam sunayi deta hai
sab logo ko(mostly) ya to cricket ka fever hota hai ya football ka
yahan jatland pe hi dekh lo:p

hockey ki team bananey naam bhi liya kisi ne ye haal to tab hai jab humari indian cricket team kuch kar ke nahi kha rahi :mad:
