HI ,
Recently I was going through the article where it was mentioned that harayana is now getting women friendly by attracting female gender by new policies declared by Mr Hooda recently…
Red faced over its gender skew,Haryana is now in rush to appear women –friendly. The state with one of the lowest sex ratios in India is going out of its way to provide Sops for women, girls in schools. The latest gender-straightener is a new scheme under which the state would give special discounts on loans to girl students planning to go for higher studies.
Harayana has embarked in recent months to fix the gender imbalance.
Alarmed over rising cases of female foeticide and statistics showing there were just over 8 girls for every 10 boys,it realized that despite its growing economic prowess, social indicaters remained embarrassing.
The state said educational loans for girl students would be at 1% less interest than the normal.Moreover,25%seats in industrial training institutes(ITIs) and technical educational institutes have been reserved for girls.
Moreover 110 girls were felicitated for exceptional achievement in different fields. The Harayana chief minister Bhupinder hooda announced special discounts on loans to girl students. The loans would be provided through Haryana Women’s Development Corporation.
Such Initiatives would prove beneficial for girls, when there r people like Kalpana Chawla from state who made their mark in the world,so this will be motivating factor for the girls who have potentials.
Since Haryana has the lowest sex ratio of 861 girls per 1000 boys.A recent survey shows that in urban centers, the ratio in the 0-6 category is 822 girls per 1000 boys.In that case with incentives for education and women to hold property things should improve.”If a property is registered in the name of a woman , she gets 2% reduction in registration fee.If a woman is the property owner and has the electricity connection, she pays 10paise less per unit of electricity consumed.”said chief minister Mr Hooda.
How far due you think these steps taken by government would attract female gender and help in balancing sex ratio in the state????????
