all i can say is WHOA...are you sure about no 17 and 18. I know about the rest and read about it in many places but I am not sure about Ramayana. My mom always talked about it too and i remember watching it when i was growing up but is it's not 100% true is it?

Indians are the richest group in United States -- SAD SAD fact. India is publishing less research based papers and all smart folks in India are leaving India so they can make money in USA or UK. There is an acute shortage of doctors in India and Indian gov is doing nothing about it. India has only half a doctor (.60) per thousand people. In rural India (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/NEWS/India/Govt_may_raise_new_cadre_of_health_workers_/articleshow/843460.cms) only 6.3% of the posts for doctors may be vacant on paper, but nearly 67% of doctors who are enrolled remain absent from duty! Yes rich Indians in USA - sounds nice but in the end Indian people suffer.

Yeah its True...:)
Although the name test tube baby was coined recently but the very concept was first introduced in Mahabharata bcoz as the story of Mahabharata goes although Queen Gandhari conceived but she was not able to deliver bcoz the foetus was not growing but Queen Kunthi who had conceived along with Gandhari had delivered at that time one Rishi visited King Dhritarashtra to enquire about his well being.
The king told rishi that although queen Ghandari had conceived but the foetus is not growing and still in the premature stage. At that time the Rishi ordered the queen to bring 100 pots and fill it with Ghee. Queen obeyed as she was told and brought 100 pots filled with Ghee.
The Rishi took out the foetus which seemed to be just a handful of the flesh cut that into 100 pieces and placed each piece in the pot and covered that with the cloth and put that into very secured place ordering the queen to take it out only when the time comes. Similarly in modern times the embryos are developed in test tubes to produce babies...:)

This was Info i had to support in favour of the above point...:)

I just listed a few here but you can find a complete list here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Indian_Americans

Again my main point, India is loosing brain power and it will continue to loose it if they don't wake up and do something about it.

If we have (had) so much potential , why did we stop.

Why didnt we carry on.

And have we learnt from our past mistakes?

Today Why 30% (approx) of population is under poverty line. 45% (approx)illiterate.

So the question arises where did we (it) all go wrong ??

Where did we loose our creativity and dynamism.

what needs to be done today....that is is the question.

So?? How can it help the current state of affairs? The above-said facts do nothing but give us yet another opportunity to massage our already-infalted ego.

Take for example the very first fact: India has never invaded any country in 1000 years. Why? Because it was itself being trampled, time and again, under the feet of invaders of various sizes and shapes. Besides it never had the wherewithal to invade any country. And mind you, whenever it could, it couldn't resist from poking nose in others' affairs. Rajiv Gandhi send IAF to "free" a Maldive under seige and Indira "liberated" East Pakistan.

Time for us to stop taking false pride in we-were-this-we-were-that and claim a higher moral ground.

About Duryodhan Birth even encyclopedia support Manisha;s view (Story)
just visit and check
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duryodhana#Birth

When Dhritarashtra's queen Gandhari's pregnancy continued for an unusually long period of time, she beat her womb in frustration, at the envy of Kunti, the queen of Pandu who had given birth to Yudhisthira, the eldest Pandava. Due to actions of Gandhari, a hardened mass of grey-colored flesh produced from her womb. Gandhari was very shocked and upset. She worshiped Vyasa, the great sage who had blessed her with one hundred sons,to redeem his words.

Vyasa divides the flesh ball into one hundred equal pieces, and puts them in pots of ghee, which are sealed and buried into the earth for one year. At the end of the year, the first pot is opened, and Duryodhana emerges.

Literally, Duryodhana means "hard to conquer". His chariot bore a flag depicting a hooded cobra.

Dhritrashtra had 11 wives, Gandhari was one of them. He was father of 101 sons but Gandhary was not the mother of them all.
