:eek:INDIA is a fast growing economy and a key contributor to greenhouse gas emissions. The World Resources Institute ranks India as the fifth largest annual emitter in the world. But, as a developing country, India has no binding commitment to reduce emissions under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. Experts agree, however, that India will be vulnerable to the effects of global climate change, and the country is coming under increasing pressure to put strategies in place to adapt to, if not mitigate, climate change
