IT WILL BE NICE IF EVERY ONE WRITE FEW LINE ABOUT HIS/HER VILLAGE.
I WROTE MYSELF AND REQUESTED OTHERS TOO.

Hi Vivekji,

A Jat village may be defined that founded by a Jat or where Jats live. It may not be a pure Jat village. If other members have some suggestion may be further considered to define a Jat village.

Interestingly many members have added good information about their villages such as History, Origin, Jat Gotras inhabiting the village and notable persons in that village.

Hi Deepak,
It may be easier to just update villages in the WIKI yourself instead of posting them here.
Also, I noticed your activity level is very low. Please be more regular man. :)

Yes, this kind of minute information is possible when the concerned member (editor) happens to know details of that village or himself belongs to that place. I have given similar information about my village. If someone has photos of village (of old monuments etc.), these can also be uploaded. Written history of Jat villages is difficult to find because there has been no sincere effort in this direction in recent past.

Said-ul-ajaib (Saidullajab) (http://www.jatland.com/home/Said-ul-ajaib) village in New Delhi was created by me some time back last year, when I was adding villages in Tewatia (http://www.jatland.com/home/Tevatia#Villages_in_Delhi) gotra. However, now I have added Gulia (http://www.jatland.com/home/Gulia) gotra as well, which skipped my attention earlier.

I have also added Said-ul-ajaib (Saidullajab) (http://www.jatland.com/forums/../home/Said-ul-ajaib) village in villages of Gulia (http://www.jatland.com/forums/../home/Gulia) gotra in New Delhi (Chirag Dilli (http://www.jatland.com/home/Chirag_Delhi) being the other village of Gulia (http://www.jatland.com/forums/../home/Gulia)'s in New Delhi)

While checking on village Lado Sarai (http://www.jatland.com/home/Lado_Sarai) I found two villages with different spellings... namely Laado Sarai (http://www.jatland.com/w/index.php?title=Laado_Sarai&redirect=no) and Ladosarai (http://www.jatland.com/w/index.php?title=Ladosarai&redirect=no). Both the spellings were wrong, as such I created another page with correct spelling and gave re-direct links in wrong spelling links. I request Burdak ji to remove pages of Laado Sarai (http://www.jatland.com/forums/../w/index.php?title=Laado_Sarai&redirect=no) and Ladosarai (http://www.jatland.com/forums/../w/index.php?title=Ladosarai&redirect=no) as it serves no purpose, which I failed to do.

Brahmji,

We need not to delete a page once it is given redirect link. because some people who write wrong spelling can also reach the correct page. If word link carries to a different page then we fix the problem accordingly. In this case need not to delete these pages. You have rightly redirected.

It is indeed very labourious work to keep a track of each addition and keep in right shape. Then we have to give right categories to that page with similar group.

Hi Ravinderji,

I have fixed the problem. We have to keep same spelling of a village so as to be linked. When you create a page see on left panel "What links here". That will show to what pages it is linked. Hope clear now. I have improved page and moved to http://www.jatland.com/home/Bahu_Akbarpur

See now.

There is a page on Jat villages in which you can add name of any jat village.

http://www.jatland.com/home/Jat_Villages

Give a link by [[name of village]] and save. It will appear red. If you have some info about that village then click the red link of the village and add that info in its page and save. It will appear now blue.

For example - http://www.jatland.com/home/Abhawas

We give a back link by

Back to [[Jat Villages]] - so that we can go back to the index page back.

It is now the role of editors to categorize it. There is a Wiki markup: at the bottom of edit window - [[Category:]] Use it for categorization. Or you can put categories as shown below manually also.

This village Abhawas has following categories:

[[Category:Jat Villages]]
[[Category:Jat Villages in Rajasthan]]
[[Category:Villages in Sikar]]

After saving you see categories at the bottom. Click each category and see all villages in that category. This list in categories that appears is automatically generated. It is the beauty of Wiki software.

So Jat villages Index page contains more villages than Category on Jat Villages

Hope it is clear now?

Reference Burdak ji's post on pre-page.

English spellings sometimes create confusion. In spoken tongue, some villages have more than one variants. In the Jat Villages list, there is one 'Bamnoli' (Baraut area, Western UP) with 'Tomar' gotra :

http://www.jatland.com/home/Bamnoli

Are 'Bamnoli' and 'Bahamdaulli' the same? Members from that area only would be in a position to clarify this. If these are same, the pages can be linked together.

As of today, in different categories, number of Jat villages is shown as under:

Rajasthan – 1025
Haryana – 371
U.P. - 181
Delhi - 98

Recently, I have added information on several villages in Delhi and Haryana. It is observed that some members add a village’s name on Jat Villages page but no information is inserted and the name is seen in red colour. Many of us add names after seeing the names in maps etc. now freely available on State Govt. websites. For example, someone has added the name of Tawadu (http://www.jatland.com/w/index.php?title=Tawadu&action=edit&redlink=1) which is a village of Mewat (Muslim) region in Haryana.

Before adding a village’s name, please make sure that it is a Jat village.

Not much information is available about Jat Villages in UP – the figure of 181 seems incomplete. I was amazed to see that even the name of famous village of Sisauli (http://www.jatland.com/home/Sisauli) was missing. I have put some information on this village. Someone from that area may please insert additional information. भाई यू.पी. वालो ! ढीले मत पड़ो, करो थोड़ी सी मेहनत इस बारे में ।

Right Deswal Sir, we should add any Village from our first hand knowledge instead of some unreliable source.

Uttar Pradesh should lead in the matter but here they are lagging behind. We need a leader from U P who can motivate to write more info about U P villages and Gotras on this site.
