Activists of a self-styled pro-Hindu moral brigade called Sri Rama Sene barged into a pub in the coastal city of Mangalore Saturday and bashed up a few young girls for ‘violating traditional Indian norms’. Many girls were punched and their hair pulled by the activists 4 p.m. Saturday at the pub Amnesia - The Lounge in Mangalore, about 350 km from here. The young men accompanying the girls to the pub on the busy Balmatta Road were also assaulted when they tried to protect their friends.

I think the Govt. of India should ban the "Ram Sena" organization for this activity. Unless we start taking stern action right in the beginning we would not succeed in maintaining law and order situation and an honorable living for the common person.

All religious organizations should be told to practice whatever they want to within the confinement of their respective religious places or homes. A stern action is warranted against the culprits.

This is really disgusting that even today and at a place like Manglore it happens. It shows the ill mental state of the protagonists acting there.

Few people say they are against drinking and pub culture. I too believe this is good if u don't drink. But the truth is pub culture exists and is legal and u cant deny this. All those present inside are adults and are responsible for their own actions irrespective of what sex they belong to. Whatever they are doing(drinking) they are doing in a place designated for the purpose. They are not harming anybody else, they don't loot anybody after drinking then what is this brouhaha all about. Why can't we simply accept this fact and stop being vociferous with women.

This is a disgraceful act by "ram sena" and i strongly condemn it.
Let us take an example that if someone's daughter normally freak out at such places than no sane person will accept this view that by beating and bashing her she can be suppressed to go to these places.Marrying such a girl or not is a different issue altogether.Who says you to marry such a girl, its totally your choice.

In my opinion you simply can't crib anyone's freedom.That's my take on this issue.

UK is notorious for it's Pub Culture. It has done more harm than good.

It has created problems in society. Violence, anti-social behaviour etc etc are associated with it.

Govt is trying to deal with it but to no avail.

I don't think one should follow everything in the WEST blindly.

On the other hand I'm not in favour of Vigil ante taking control of the situation.

Everyone should have a freedom of choice the way they want to lead their life (as long as it's legal of course)

One thing is good in India that Administration is too smart to shrink the responsibility to administer law and order.
Example 1: long time ago there was law and order problem in Gurgaon regarding safety of women working in Call Centres. Instead of providing security to those women the administration came with an idea that women should not work in night shift and they tried to enforce it against all odds.
Example 2: the current example of Bangalore pubs.
If the administration has problem with these pubs then the legislature can make laws for their governance and implement it. Why a gender bias is being created in our society where as the constitution clearly says that there will be no discrimination on the basis of cast, gender, race etc……..

It is unfortunate that instead of solving any problem people want to run away from it. The so called Ram Sena can create social awareness instead of taking law in their own hands and the most unfortunate thing, the ruling party and its CM justifies these unlawful activities.

I have always been a advocate on building on things rather than starting afresh , though its not always the right idea! :)

Culture and tradition is one thing , we must certainly not try to create all new but rather add on and fine tune the older versions how ever buggy it may look or feel like!

One can easily segregate the two clear groups over here on the thread , the proponents of the continuity of the culture we have lived in for ages and the advocates of the ideas of equality , egalitarian approach!


Whos right , whos wrong? Once can have his/her personal take on that! :) And it will be biased by your beliefs for sure!
Or if you chose to include the evolution theory into it , Darwin will propose that the better ones to adapt will eventually make it their way! :)


Adapt is "the" word and adapt one should , how fast is again how comfortable you are!

Change is destined , we can only try and make it gradual for a smoother transition :)

All security forces must be aware of Human Rights beside their personal social culture.

I think the Govt. of India should ban the "Ram Sena" organization for this activity. Unless we start taking stern action right in the beginning we would not succeed in maintaining law and order situation and an honorable living for the common person.

All religious organizations should be told to practice whatever they want to within the confinement of their respective religious places or homes. A stern action is warranted against the culprits.

Itna sab hone ke baavjood sarkar kuchh nahi kar rahi hai. India me 14th February ki shaam ko saare news channel par ek hi breaking news hogi ki SHIV SENA, RAM SENA, BAJRANG DAL aur aise hi kuchh parties ne poore din couples (unmarried or married both) ka milna aur jeena kaise haraam rakha unki kaise sare aam pitaaye ki aur shaadi karwayee. Ye sab parties apna ullu seedha karne me lagi hooye hain. Kehne ko hamare desh me democracy hai lekin chalti ab bhi raajshaahi hi hai. Har ek political party me VANSHVAAD bhara pada hai. Bahar se koi nahi chuna jaata apne hi bhaai bhateejo ko party me uchh pad par baitha diya jata hai. Agar aisa hi chalta raha to ye desh kabhi nahi aage badh sakega..... Dhanyavaad.

Dear Members,

I think we need to make it clear to all the organizations, that there can be only one Sena in India and that is "Bhartiya Sena"/Indian Military.

Let us ban all the organizations created with that name. The members of all the existing one should be collected and posted to Siachen Glacier for rest of their life. I think they can be left free to to a good job there, with no withdrawal routes to come back to civilization.

This will help them achieve their main aim of serving the nation in best possible manner, as well will give incentive to future propsects to create similar organizations.

I fully agree with your suggestion. All rogues, criminals/convicts and these self styled sainiks should be made to do some real duty in CI ops and extreme terrains. I am sure they will come back as better citizens and if they dont comeback, no one would mind.

In US they have a system of 'community service' as punishment. We should have a similar thing on 'national service' for these rogue minds.
