Read all the entertaining replies to this thread...got a break from a boring monday morning..hahaha:D

OK now back to the subject initiated by Aman. You know, this kind of correlation between blood type and personality trait/diseases etc have been investigated by many groups but only a handful of published reasearch is available and that too establishes no correlation as such.

For those interested I'm attaching an old research paper, investiagting the relation between blood types and obsessional illness. The group discovered that there is no correlation and also summarised pretty nicely in the discussion part why and how the previously established hypothesis of connection between the two could be false.

Anyway, I skimmed through the link by Sunita. Pretty amusing to see this growing obsession for blood types in Japan and how they are debunking any sort of scientific basis. But the silver lining is ....matching blood type for matchmaking purposes, might save couples from blood incompatibilty problems later on (in case they are taking into account the scientific Rh factor basis..may be not..they might be having their own criteria I guess ...But, who knows some one may get lucky by chance :)).

This study failed to show an association between ABO phenotypes
and obsessive-compulsive neurosis or premorbid personality
traits. These results are discussed in the light of previous positive
findings and in the context of the general criticisms of blood groupdisease
association studies.

CONCLUSION
This study has failed to confirm an association between obsessive-compulsive neurosis
and phenotype A, or to find any relationship between premorbid personality
traits and the ABO blood groups.
It would seem preferable that future investigations of blood group-disease associations
should avoid the many errors attributed to previous studies. Finally,
positive associations should be re-examined using unaffected sibs as controls, to
exclude conclusively the possibility of racial stratification.
