I want to purchase latest version of Laptop or Desktop. Please suggest??? If Laptop then which brand and if desktop which configuration. My Budget around 35-40 thousand INR

but Inspiron 1420 is not available in India now!! last year itself Dell stopped it.

u can try Inspiron 1310. 13 inchi!!

I have heard that Dell XPS is better in performance!!

Sorry bhai mere ko service ka idea nahin thaaa...baki laptop chalte hain yaah pure kharab hoo jate hain.. Sytem board ke cost aur naye laptop ke cost barabar hai.. Same is true for Screen.. baki aur ke tote gaa..

ok, i just checked. my mistake: 14 inchi is available in India. :o
it seems they have introduced it again. sometime back it was not there.

P.S. if u are going for Dell laptop/desktop.. u can always bargain with the sales executive for a better price. :)

Rathee ji, Acer ka koi bhi model lelo, sasta, sunder or tikaau. Mere kan do sai teen saal tai, kati nu ke nu sei.

Well my thinking is little different

Go for Desktop and that too assembled

You can get a quadcore processor with 1 Tb Harddisk 4Gb RAM DVDwriter 22" LCD for same or less then the amount you spend on a Laptop.
Maintainance will be far much cheaper and you can upgrade that at any moment you want.:)

Only Negative Point is mobility

Naresh Ji, aap mujhe HP/Compaq or Sony to bata rahe ho but mujhe proper model name bata dijiye jisme latest features ho aur koi problem naa aati ho.

Laptop and Desktop can not be compared like that ...tell us your need then we can suggest you based on our own experiences ...

if you want to simple work like Entertainment , Documents Processing i will suggest Laptop.

But if you are in Software industry and run , compile source codes than Desktop is more convenient.

Bhaisahb I guess IBM Thinkpad would be the better option. its good both in performance n price.If you are worried about warming of laptop, than I guess there are different kind of cooler available in market for laptop.'Aur bhaisahb machine hai, jyada chalaoge te garam to howegi' But before buying a laptop your criteria should'nt be limited to only if its getting warmer or not, but also to the battery life, proccessor speed,storage capacity.if you are really willing to spend good money than definately I would recommend accordingly
1). Apple mac
2). Sony Vaio
3). IBM Thinkpad
4). HP or Dell
5). Accer
But if you are comparing between desktop n laptop than bhai its something like comparing bhens n kaatda,bhensh ne jee log liye gali gali naa ghuma karte,bhensh te ghar hee bandhi theek hai
te bhaisahb jamane gaila chal lo, aur ek laptop le lo n if possible buy a external hard drive to keep your data safe at home.

Definitely go for a Desktop then. Its more effecting for Graphical applications and will be more convenient.

Virender Ji.... Deepak has rightly stated......... you probably need a Desktop...... in my opinion....... all new software and other programme that you want to test on your computer will require atleast 2GB RAM and depending upon your need 160GB HDD with best sound cards and internet card....:rolleyes: however i wanna caution you All these softwares or games comes with inbuilt viruses...... which may effect your computer and security of ur data...... again it is easy to update the software on Desktop PC than Laptop....... and much cheaper in maintenance........
Laptop will consume battery like anything and will require a new one every 2nd year.........:mad:
On second thought if you want the ease of movement and wanna carry all your data with you always (that can alternatively be done by 260GB external HDD Rs. 3000) and wanna be tech savvy then surely you should buy Laptop........ nowadays there are some good laptops avaibale (DELL, TOSHIBA) which overcomes the above difficulty so some extent...
