this news is from IBN7. Its really very nice to see such kind of stories in India. Hope some day we all will live peacefully together irrespective of religion and casts.

Great if they are really being given modern and scientific education. But I really doubt the idiots from IBN7- their left leaning credentials are no secret. The report mentions "Urdu, tehzeeb aur anya vishya". So are urdu and tehzeeb the most important subjects now that a child should know to progress in life? And what subject is tehzeeb? It is failure on part of the govt. that any child, hindu or muslim, has to go to a madarsa, which is by definition a center of Islamic learning. If anyone after securing minimum education feels attracted towards religious learning, he can go ahead. But this seems more like a forced choice.

If students are getting good education there, then its really very good.... but the number of such 'Madarsas' is very less.... "Baki Madarso me to aaj bhi wahi purani talim dekar muslims ki nayi generation ka brain wash kiya jata hai..... Government ne nayi scheme lakar acha kiya hai taki in Madarso ko mainstream ma laya ja sake........"

These type of news are good to see, but has anybody ever pondered what will happen to those young minds who are subjected to the education (???) system of madarsas...... whatever IBN or govt. of India says in this regard, I think it is a ploy by some muslim fundamentalist organisation to woo some poor parents for sending their childern to madarsas.... it is on the lines of chirtian missionaries....
However the people residing in the nearby areas or the people who are sending their childern to these madarsas will tell the truth behind all this...

There is a possibility of what u mentioned. If it so then Hindu organizations have to come forward to save Hinduism otherwise in due sourswe of time we will be minorities in India as well.

Agree on the quality of education, its a known fact that quality of education in madaras is worst in the nation. But the means of this news is just to show how we can stand above the religion for national integrity.
For me its a piece of news which shows that religion differences are not in peoples mind but it's a political phenomenon to lure a particular community.
and yes Dahiya ji I agree on ur suggestion that government shouyld come up with a plan to pull Madaras's in main stream education system like gurukuls and also the quality of education should be improved. And if iam not wrong govt is putting its step forward for the same.

In efforts of searching a similar kind of Gurukul which educate students from other religion i got to know about Arya Kanya Gurukul, Porbandar.
The foundation stone of the Gurukul was laid, significantly, at the hands of a Harijan girl on the auspicious Dev Diwali Day in 1936. Within the short span of one year, construction of the Ashram, the school building, hostel with a fully equipped kitchen and dining hall, a medical examination room and staff quarters, etc., was completed. The Gurukul was declared open on 5th December 1937 by H.H. Maharana Natvarsinhji of Porbandar in the presence of an august gathering which, included several saints and intellectuals. From this small beginning the enrollment today is between 1000-1200 girls annually. More than 20,000 girls have passed through the portals of the Gurukul in the past half century and have been spreading the message of Indian culture around the world- culture which they have imbibed from their systematic all-round training at Gurukul.
The girls begin learning four different languages from the very start of their curricular activities, namely, Gujarati, Hindi, Sanskrit and English. The medium of instruction is Gujarati, but intensive coaching in Hindi prepares the girls for the Hindi examination conducted by the Institute at Wardha and a number of them graduate in Hindi well before they finish schooling.
A SYNTHESIS OF THE MODERN AND THE TRADITIONAL
The educational system at Gurukul is a blend of the rich ancient Vedic heritage and the modern educational system with its orientation towards science and technology. The Gurukul system attempts to eradicate the lacuna of the present day system of education, which only stresses materialism but lacks in moral, religious or spiritual orientation.
Classes V to XII of the Secondary School curriculum are conducted in the Gurukul whereas the classes for the degree course are held in the Gurukul Women's College. The College Hostel accommodates 250 girls. Another 400 girls from the city of Porbandar and surrounding villages attend the daytime courses.
For girls oriented towards the fine arts, there are courses in music and painting, and the talented amongst them qualify for music and painting examinations conducted by the All Gujarat Music Committee and the State Examination Board respectively.
The Gurukul and its curricula preparing the students for the Xth and XIIth standard examinations have been granted recognition by the State level Secondary School Boards.
The Gurukul system attempts to eradicate the lacuna of the present day system of education which only stresses materialism but lacks in moral, religious or spiritual orientation.
YOGA FOR ALL ROUND DEVELOPMENT
The curriculum lays equal emphasis on physical training of the girls. Besides yogic exercises, the girls are trained in Indian and Japanese martial arts of self-defence.
SARASWATI SABHA
The Saraswati Sabha, named after Saraswati, the Goddess of Learning, is a forum conducted by the girls themselves which inspires and enables them to give expression to their latent talents. The forum's activities include debates, writing, artistic creativity including acting and 'Rangoli'- drawing designs on the floor using powdered chalk in a variety of colours. The girls also edit the forum's house magazine 'Bharati'. The Ashram's daily routine is conducted by a Daily Committee, which allocated duties and chores amongst the member girls.
THE GURUKUL A FAMILY
The real man is he who has been reared in the cultural warmth and affection of his parents and of his Guru. In the Ashrams throughout India, Gurus provided the warmth of the family atmosphere besides institutional training. The Gurukul has followed the same pattern and has interwoven Ashram life with imparting of knowledge.
The enrollment to the Gurukul is without any distinction of caste, creed or religion. Girls from devout Muslim families and Christian native girls from Africa have also been trained at the Gurukul.

Althusser has stated that social stratification starts the day a child enters into the kind of education system he is destined to. The modern education system is superlative in compared to traditional systems in the era of capitalism. Though some Madrasas and Ashrams have tried to incorporate the ICT based technical education, but it is only seen to the extent of providing vocational training for jobs.
The modern scientific education system and education for social living are the two halves of the equilibrium. And, any such institution can only be state sponsored. To believe that a private initiative could do equally well is a hope misplaced. The Navodaya Vidyala system actually cater to these aspect. Our effort should be to introduce more and more student masses to the Navodaya system of education. And, one is not against the Madrasas and Gurkuls but the point is that they represent the stop-gap solutions where the state has faltered in its duty.
They are good symbols of harmony and their demands should be listened into, but there should be an alternate option available for those who wish to transform. The resistance to transformation by the traditional systems is where the actual bottleneck lies.
Thanks!
